Default actors in the segments

Has anyone ever noticed if UM staff used actors for multiple reenactments of different stories/case files? I was just watching the Joseph Prushinowski segment (more namely a scene where he's handing a stack of checks to another bank associate) and I swear the actor playing the bank associate is the same actor who played the hitchhiker in Phillip Fraser's segment!

Sounds like it was a purposeful technique used by the show producers to help us recognize/remember a face in case we ever came across a fugitive featured

As smart as that sounds, I just think they were low on funds.

I think it was to save money too. It seems like a lot of TV shows do that. The X-Files had a ton of reoccurring actors. Terry O'Quinn played 3 separate characters.

I just watched the Jaclyn Dowaliby segment (5x10?) and I can't figure out if I've seen the actor who plays David on another show or if I'm just remembering him from the segment. He looks super familiar. Anyone know the actor, by chance?

Last week I noticed that the actor who played Norman Ladner's father was also in the "Huey Long" episode portraying one of his bodyguards.

A couple years ago I remember watching the Stuart Heaton case.

During the reenactment of the Courtroom Scene one of the lawyers is played by Joe Howard.

I remember Joe Howard from this role as Officer George Frankly on the PBS Kids TV Show "Square One TV." (1987-1992) Joe would always be on the Mathnet segment of that show which is a parody of "Dragnet."

Meanwhile, I hope and pray we get to see the Stuart Heaton case on Amazon soon. It should be released in Season 7.

I don't know who the actress who played Jennifer Pratt is named, however in the telecenter segment Stack showed a newspaper article where the actress raised money for Jenny.

A couple I've noticed:

-The "crazy from Detroit" in the Kurt Sova segment and the Blind River rest stop killer are portrayed by the same actor.

-The hunter who discovers Ethel Kidd's body and the Boston mall rapist = same actor.

-The actress who portrayed the "real" Bonnie Wilder (the woman who was visited by police in the segment) provided the voiceovers for the Gail Delano and Audrey Moate segments.

Of course, a lot of people have recently noticed that the actor who played Brushy Bill Roberts also played the mysterious carpenter from the Loretto staircase segment.

Character actor Holmes Osborne (who went on to star in several notable films, including "Donnie Darko") has also appeared in multiple segments: he played the professor who kicks Richard Bocklage out of his class, and also played one of Nelson DeCloud's cult members.

Brad Bishop and the guy who threatens a cousin of Curt Borton Jr. with a gun are portrayed by the same actor.

That re-enactment for the Curt Borton case was hilarious because the cousin did not want his ID revealed so you could tell the conversation was off

One of the best ones I have uncovered is kind of high-profile because it includes a "main" character in a segment.

The actor who played the flamboyant fraudster Todd Mueller was also in the C.W. Roddy segment, playing one of the gangsters that was terrorizing her neighborhood.

That same actor played the "unnamed mysterious black hitchhiker" in the case of a guy who went missing. His name escapes me but he was drunk and went into a bar to find his daughter and the Todd Mueller actor was with him. (I know one of my fellow UM nerds will remember... )

Yesss. I AM that UM nerd.

You're talking about Donald "I can whip anyone in here" Smith. The suspect was referred to as Larry Monroe.
