Default B2K Splits

http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/ar...ent_id=2061480

Quote:
After six years together, the members of pop R&B group B2K have gone their separate ways. The act -- Omarion, Lil Fizz, J-Boog and Raz -- released three albums, two EPs and a soundtrack through Sony's Epic label, beginning with a 2002 self-titled set that bowed at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

"We've had a great run together making hit songs, albums and now movies," the group's manager, Chris Stokes, says in a statement. "The kids are growing up and are interested in pursing their own careers. I have enormous respect for each of them, and I wish them success in their pursuit of their individual careers. B2K was an extremely talented singing group that will surely be missed."

Stokes's company, The Ultimate Group, will continue to manage Omarion. The three remaining members will be managed by CMX.

"B2K," which also opened at No. 2 on The Billboard 200, has sold 891,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Last year's follow-up, "Pandemonium!," reached No. 3 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and No. 10 on The Billboard 200, and has sold 1.2 million copies.

A pair of EPs, 2002's "The Remixes Vol. 1" and 2003's "The Remixes Vol. 2," have sold a combined 152,000 copies. The 2002 holiday set "Santa Hooked Me Up" has sold 132,000.

The group scored its biggest hit with the song "Bump, Bump Bump" featuring Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, which topped Billboard's Hot 100 in April 2003. Other B2K hits included "Girlfriend," "Gots Ta Be," "Uh Huh" and "Why I Love You."

B2K's latest release is the soundtrack to "You Got Served." Largely comprised of B2K tracks, some of which feature guest appearances by Lil' Kim and Fabolous, the collection also boasts songs by Jhené (cousin of Lil' Fizz), Marques Houston, ATL and others.

Issued Dec. 23, the set debuted at No. 7 on the R&B/Hip-Hop tally and No. 34 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 103,000 copies. The Screen Gems film, which opens Jan. 30 in U.S. theaters, features all of the members of the group, as well as Houston and Lil' Kim, among its cast.

At the end of December, B2K performed several shows together in support of the "You Got Served" soundtrack. At deadline there was no word as to whether or not the group would fulfil its other touring commitments, including a March 5 appearance with Bow Wow at Texas' annual RodeoHouston event.

I always thought B2K sounded like some sort of new addition to the Burger King menu

January 5, 2004 is to this generation what April 8, 1970 (or somewhere around there) is to anothers.

What will the world do without the talent, brilliance and legacy of B2K?!?!?!

To the members of B2K for the 2 years of joy and art they gave their fans all across the world

I read in the black magazine Sister 2 Sister that they split up because their manager Chris Stokes was taking advantage of them with the money. Whenever money is involved, there's always gonna be a problem. The other 3 members besides Omarion have new management. Omarion decided to stay with Chris Stokes as his manager. Lil Fizz, J-Boog, Raz say there isn't any beef with Omarion & they said he can join them in the group if he decides to leave Chris. If he stays with Chris, they said B2K is no more. I also read Chris Stokes side of the story & he said he didn't take advantage of them with the money. The record industry is shady period & managers & record labels have always taken advantage of their artists when money is involved. I could care less about B2K. I never liked them.
