Smile Tony O'Dell

I got the Tony O'Dell clippings from E-Bay and there was so much stuff about him. There was a few clippings from teen magazines, Here's what it says:

From an article from 1978--He's handsome, sweet, a little shy and oh so romantic- what more could you ask for?! That's what you'll say after you meet Tony O'Dell, one of Hollywood's terrific actors! Tony, who's 19, co-stars in the new film, "falling in love again," with Eliott Gould and Susannas York, but you may have already seen darling Tony in the fil "Good Luck, Miss Wyckoff" or on TV in a "Chips" episode or commercials.
Even though he's a newcomer to show business, Tony's always had his heart set on an acting career and studied at the famous American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Tony's become fast friends with several other young actor (Philip Brown and Ricky Schroder) and admits he'd love to one day work with two of his favorite actresses, Kristy McNichol and Melissa Sue Anderson.
Sports, singing, and disco dancing take up most of his free time, and like any red-blooded American male, Tony Love girls! If Tony sounds like the kind of guy you could love, why not write him.....(then it gives an address)

Other Stuff: From an article talking about the Karate Kid.... This is a quote-- "Being able to make someone feel good from watching me act is the greatest compliment I can get," states sexy "cobra" Tony O'Dell''s feelings on being an actor. This Pasadena-born guy may be familiar-- he was Willie Aames' bass player on Eight is Enough and has also appeared on Dynasty.

Another quote --- "I made a decision to prove to myself that I could succeed in what I was told was an "impractical" career. My parents objected to the idea, but I was determined to attain my goal and make my parents proud in the bargan." He admits he;s having a ball and can't believe the success of the series. When he isn't at the studio, he's traveling as a spokesman for the California Raisin Advisory Board-- Tony also lends his time and support to the "just say no" program.

This is an article from a magazine in 1989....This talks about Tony and his business manager.
Laura is my business conscience. We discuss every significant purchase in advance, such as my BMW 325i convertible that I love. If I'm goning to have my kitchen and living room painted for $1,000, I call her to make a final decision based on the facts she provides. Laura always plays devil's advocate: I once told her "I really like the Porsche 911 cabrio SE's a lor. Can I buy one?" But she pointed out that the insurance on a car like that costs about $5,000. Thanks to Laura, I know that if the series were canceled tomorrow, I'd still be able to make my house payments and car payments. I can go to sleep at night without worrying about my living situation, and that feels great. I love her because she brings a certain confidence to my life, and I know that not everybody can say that about their business manager.
Laura:
Tony's been a great client for about 5 years now because he's very business-oriented and comes to me with lots of ideas. For instance, we've talked about building a house on spec in the future, and he instantly grasps the pros and cons of this sort of deal. He's very involved and takes the time to learn everything about his money and investments and his enthusiasm makes my job easier. He owns and house in Burbank, he's on a pension plan, and he's got tax free bonds. We speak on the phone at least once a week and we meet monthly when the general ledgers come in for about 45 minutes. If we meet at parties, we don't discuss business. We have a mutual trust and his information is always reliable and impeccably accurate. Our attitude is, "you can have it all". Tony works really hard and deserves to play a little. It's possible to have financial sercurity and also have your toys.

Ok that's all, there were tons of pics but will put those on when I hook up my scanner.

Wow. He seems like a really cool person (in definite contrast with Alan Pinkard, although out of all of the IHP, him and Maria were my favorites).

One of my favorite HOTC moments was in the episode where Ms. Meara taught the class on marriage, in the scene where the class members told Mr. Moore who they were paired up with:

Maria: (sort of hissing) "Stuck with Alan"

Alan: "Its not a bowl of cumquats for me either, you know"

PRICELESS!

you know they did put "loves" in italics. Ok, well maybe that's how he was back in 1978, but I still haven't seen any proof that he's gay.

I was wondering where that information came from too. I've done searches and haven't come up with evidence of him being gay except for one message board where it was speculated. I mean I don't really care. If he is he is. If he's not he's not. It'd just be good to know for certain either way.
