Defeats the whole purpose of the show being on the streaming. And why the hell would episodes missing? So DVD releases have edits and streaming have missing eps

From just reading the title of this thread I knew that it was you before I saw that it was you.
![]() I don't know why there's missing episodes of some shows, but I wouldn't say that it defeats the purpose of streaming. Most of something or even just a little of something is certainly better than nothing at all. There are other streaming services besides Tubi that are guilty of carrying a series with missing episodes. |

These things generally boil down to dollars, if a service licenses forty episodes of the original Odd Couple the service can purchase some episodes of another series. It expands what they have available for viewing.

I'd imagine there is a whole list of reasons. Here are a few odd recent examples I noticed.
I just happened to be going through Penn & Teller BS on Paramount +. I know The Vatican episode had never been released on the DVD, but I happened to notice the season 3 episode Holier Than Thou that was on the DVD set is also missing. The season one episode on recycling has a package of paper towels blurred. I can't remember if it was blurred on the DVD though. There are two listings for Jacked Auto Theft Task Force on Amazon Video. One is in HD and includes the pilot episode on A&E streaming service channel, but is missing the last episode of the show. The show was released in SD on DVD and in SD on Prime Video. Prime Video includes the last episode, but does not have the pilot episode. I have also seen Tubi and Roku rotate shows and seasons of shows in and out. Namely Who's The Boss on Tubi, and Third Watch on Roku. |
