Exclamation No Political Threads

I shouldn't have to post a reminder, but maybe sometimes people get lost and forget where they are posting. Political threads are no longer allowed. The politics board was closed last year. I have no plans on bringing it back. I don't have any interest in hosting threads like that. I just want a friendly community where people can discuss sitcoms and TV, play games, and have some light chat.

There are plenty of other social media sites and forums you can use if you want to have those types of political discussions and debates.

Today we've already had threads for "Trans people!" and "Fox News Getting Too Much Pressure For" firing Tucker Carlson. Those types of threads are purely political. They are going to be closed and/or deleted. You are wasting your time and my time by even creating them. Thank you for understanding.

Todd I know the political base has been some problems but hasnt the whole site really??

People are gonna cause problems ON ANY BASE if they feel like it.......

Why not bring the political base back AS A GROUP MEMBERSHIP like I suggested.then the only people on that base will be those of us who wanna see that stuff.... (The base wouldnt appear on the index if they didnt join the group)

I've had it set up as a group membership before. I've blocked people by request. I simply don't want to deal with it at all. I rarely ever posted on it except to break up fights. I never enjoyed reading it.

People who continue to cause problems here are going to find themselves suspended or banned. It might be time to start cleaning house.

I have a lot of bad memories in dealing with all the drama. It's not worth the time and aggravation. As Janice told me a few years ago when I was considering closing it, it doesn't add anything to the site. I regret not closing it sooner.

But it does add something buddy... IT ADDS ATMOSPHERE

It gives this place life.... Its good to have it!!!

This is a good site.......... Dont make it seem worse because you dont wanna deal with a little contraversy

Think about it buddy.....

Do you mind if I create a message base in Social Groups for political threads? (We can see how it goes and if its OK,maybe we can open the main political base again)

It only adds problems, controversy and hurt feelings. We lost some good members because of it.

You were a much nicer person before you became political the last few years. You should go back to enjoying your 8-track tapes, cassette tapes, records and VHS tapes. You seemed like a much happier and fun loving dude back then. I noticed how you became somewhat meaner and more angry. I learned a long time ago to not overly concern myself with things I have little to no control over.

I already deleted your social group before. Please don't create another. Why don't you just invite people to one of those forums you admin?

What about threads that are directly related to a cast member leaving like the Good Doctor one I posted about Hill Harper running for Senate?

TJ, many people have changed in the last few years since you know what happened to our lives.....I have as I speak out more, seek the real truths not the answers from you know where.
Sao so many lives have changed, parents can't buy food to feed their children as they could before early 2020....Mad as Hell, Yes Sir.

I kinda lost a long time friend as I tried to get her to see the Light but she stayed stuck. I still send her stuff and just maybe by now she believes others....

Thank goodness my little family are on the same pages as me, they worked to turn me around.....

Yes the board could be lot more interesting. Wonder why the ones who left due to politics have not come back......ummmm

I keep trying to post interests...

But I've seen you go into threads that apparently don't interest you/you don't like, but you post criticism of the thread itself. Here we go with this again, etc.

So Stevea, we can only post in threads that we agree with, can't post at least one comment in the negative vein? I guess I don't quite understand your critique. So much, in my opinion, is worthless

TV related threads about cast members are probably fine. They can always be closed if they get out of hand.

People leave for various reasons. Sometimes their heart just isn't it anymore.

People's views and opinions rarely change. Even if you can get or two people to see the light, it will never really make a difference.

I noticed people have become much more meaner to each other in recent years, especially if they have different political views. It never used to be so harsh like that.

We just don't have many active people in your age bracket. There's not much interest in some of your health related topics. They might work better on health related forums.

I must agree with stevea said about you. We don't need so many negative posts like that. Critcizing other's threads isn't going to make your threads more popular.

Obviously there is no rule to that effect--but if one thinks a thread is worthless, why bother with it in the first place? Other than to be snarky and rude to posters who don't agree.

Thank you, TJ. It also wasn't lost on me that this thread itself became political.

To anyone questioning TJ's rules--don't. He's successfully run the website and these forums for well over 20 years, and is the reason they still exist today. It's pretty remarkable, actually, after seeing all of the websites that went under over the years.

TJ, thanks...and I know 1000% that no one here is my age and think about health, but the members do have parents, grandparents, older friends and younger friends with health issues, old people are not the ONLY ones with health issues....my sister was hit with MS in her early 20's...RIP at 68..

I think out of the box on everything TJ. It's amazing when one thinks outside the standard box of their lives, how much other stuff they CAN learn..

Have a Nice Enough Day All Here.

Political threads suck and they always have. Nobody's changing anybody's mind and it only leads to fights and bad feelings. Life's too short to be unhappy all the time.
