Was Season 4 the last genuinely good season? I say this because, you can argue that Tony and Angela's "will they/won't stay" storyline was beginning to get old and tired. By the end of Season 4, they both acknowledge their attraction and feelings for one another, yet they still do nothing about it. So right then and there, it was kind of hard to be invested in that part of the show if they don't even seem to be. And this was just before, Tony really became a ridiculous character; a yuppie of sorts, who kind of lost his blue-collar charm.
Mona's "old slut" schtick in particular, didn't seem to work anymore. It was also by this time, in which the kids didn't seem to be cute anymore. By this point, Jonathan's sole purpose seemed to be to merely pop up with something stupid to say every so often. Meanwhile, Sam wasn't tomboy from Brooklyn anymore but an increasingly annoying, shallow, and self-centered teenager. |
