Why Sitcom Actors/Actresses don’t host SNL?

Back in the 90’s Sitcom actors and actresses hosted SNL. I wonder why that doesn’t happen any more?

I think some good choices would be…

Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs)
John Goodman (The Conners)
Laurie Metcalf (The Conners)
Zoe Perry (Young Sheldon)

and even performers from past shows such as, The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family.

I would scratch John Goodman from that list since he has hosted the show at least 13 times. Laurie Metcalf was actually, very, very briefly, a part of the cast of the ill-fated 1980-81 season that was produced by Jean Doumanian.

As for The Big Bang Theory, Jim Parsons among that show's cast hosted at least once and Ed O'Neill (back when he was on Married..with Children) and Sofia Vegara hosted among the Modern Family cast.

I guess it has something to do with comedy on American broadcast TV being on the decline ever since The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family ended? What sitcom actors is SNL gonna get from cable and streaming as future hosts?
