Cool A Complete Guide to Nick at Nite

Hello Out There From TV Land,

2015 marks the 30th Anniversary of the birth and launch of Nick at Nite on July 1.

With this in mind, I present to you A Complete Guide to Nick at Nite, commencing with a near-alphabetical list of every show ever aired in the History of Nick at Nite (including a mixture of both regular programming and shows that made rare and/or one-time only appearances on Nick at Nite, along with simulcast events on TV Land) culminating with what I believe the future holds for Nick at Nite.

And as Jackie Gleason would put it, "And Away We Go!"

1. 227 (March 4, 2001 - April 1, 2001, part of "Revenge of the '80s" week-long marathon, after which it aired Sunday nights from March 11, 2001 til April 1, 2001 on Nick at Nite USA as part of "Totally '80s Sunday")

There you have it, 161 Programs airing throughout the History of Nick at Nite, including international airings (including "Who's the Boss," airing in reruns on Nick at Nite from June 14, 2004 - December 31, 2006); my apologies for not including it above in the Nick at Nite programming list. My Mea Culpa.

I'd like to state, first of all, for the record, that Nick at Nite has had international versions starting with Australia from 1995-2000, Latin America from 2006-2014, and Germany from 2008-2009.

Shows seen on Nick at Nite in Australia included such U.S. Nick at Nite programs as "The Bob Newhart Show," "Gilligan's Island" & "Mister Ed" (for which I've included U.S. Nick at Nite airings of), as well as programming only seen in the Australian Nick at Nite such as "Doogie Howser, M.D.," "The Jim Nabors Hour" & "Barney Miller," for which I've included Australian airings.

In addition to Latin America, Nick at Nite also had a German version, known as Nick Nacht Acht from 2008-2009; shows included "The Adventures of Pete & Pete," "Ally McBeal" & "Chicago Hope" to name but a few.

EDIT: I should ALSO mention Nick at Nite aired "Brooklyn Bridge" from June 30, 1997 - July 4, 1997 as part of a simulcast event with TV Land.

EDIT: Thank you Something for pointing out that I'd missed "Looney Tunes."

As promised, here's what I firmly believe the future holds for Nick at Nite.

I firmly predict that the way Nick at Nite is turning to crap, it'll most likely be retired by 2020, maybe earlier, and Nickelodeon will become a 24-hour cable network.

When you see the great shows they had on there, you could almost cry. What a shame. I dont think it will go away by 2020 but I would think that a major overhaul will be taking place soon.

Don't know why so many of these shows had a 2-3 year life span and a huge syndicated success like Gilligan's Island was only on for 15 months?

But then they've got crap that have been on for 10 years with only small intervals like Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air which I'm assuming is still showing because of Will Smith's box office in the past and then crap like Full House which will only get more viewers nostalgic because of the Fuller House on Netflix.

It's depressing to see all the great shows they once aired. I don't even have Nick or TV Land on my dish guide anymore, what's the point, they sank years ago IMO.

Should have also pointed out, Nick at Nite US never aired Ally McBeal nor Chicago Hope in syndication run.

Also Nick at Nite aired Roseanne (Sept 2003-early 2009; returned Oct 2009-Dec 2009)

I don't remember Doogie Howser MD airing on Nick at Nite, last I checked in 2000 or 2001 when I first observed Nick at Nite schedule.

I think Head of the Class aired one time in marathon July 2000; full time airing Feb 2003-Sept 2003

I don't remember The Honeymooners airing on Nick at Nite USA in 2000 or beyond.

Kids Say the Darndest Things stopped airing in Nick at Nite in Sept 2003 I believe...

I don't remember Paper Moon airing on Nick at Nite USA in 2008???

Silver Spoons from March 2001 to mid 2001 i think.., and one time airing in jun 2005

Wings from mar 2003 to 2004 i think...
