It is with sadness that I must announce that our fellow Brother Raccoon Rob, known to us on here as Videowack, passed away. I never met Rob in person but knew him as an online friend from both this message board and the old board at honeymooners.net. I think I speak for all of us when I say that his presence and his involvement in the "Honeymooners Community" will be missed. We send out our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
"Woo-woo Brother Raccoon Videowack." |

Very sad news indeed. I never knew Rob personally, but I felt like I did. He and I go back several years trading Gleason and Honeymooners stuff. He was a huge asset to the hobby, and I'm going to miss him. He had a wealth of knowledge about Gleason, much of which was new to me. Rest in peace, Brother Raccoon.

Very sad news indeed. I will be very grateful for all the "tape trade" I did with him a while ago in which he gave me some VERY RARE Honeymooners episodes. My condolences go out to his family.

My deepest and sincere sympathies.........
though 99% of us will never meet, all here are part of an extended family as we read and share eachothers thoughts each day......... I was very sad to read about the loss of videowack, I don't believe we ever even communicated, yet I read all his posts, yes I too love gleason, but even if I didn't I still knew his screenname and would have read the posts like we all do here....... rest in peace.......... |

In remembrance, I thought I would post this link to Rob's video page on YouTube (a total of 261 videos posted):
http://youtube.com/profile_videos?us...lainedgeNY&p=r Not only was Rob a key member here, but also to the YouTube community. This is just one example of what a generous man he was, and how dedicated he was to collecting and providing fans like us with rare footage like this. I am just now noticing that he finally got around to posting a couple clips that I requested...sorry I never thanked you personally pal, but it is very much appreciated as always! |

How sad. I didn't know Rob, but it's clear that he was a valued and respected man, and was a dear friend to many. My condolences to his loved ones, and that includes his friends here on SO. I have some very close friends here, and I can't even imagine getting news like this. Take care.

I was wondering why the video count stopped with a 1956 Bob Hope monologue. I was hoping to find out which of the monologues from which of Mr. Hope's shows (TV or radio) made up the 1973 album Holidays (Spear 4700), for example. I was able to find out from those clips that, until 1974, the opening announcer was NBC West Coast staffer Frank Barton, whose association with the future "Peacock Network" went back to the 1930's in San Francisco, and then moved around 1942 to Hollywood (and then, around 1955, to Burbank).
But it is somewhat ironic that while many YouTubers have had their accounts pulled for various reasons (many related to a certain "circle C"), in Rob's case the video excerpts and their position on YouTube have outlasted him. And I concur with all of those who've posted here that all around, he will be sorely missed. Oh, and to be sure, I find the rare Gleason clips interesting. Ver-r-ry interesting, one may say. |

Hello,
I am Rob's son-in-law. I want to express my thanks for all your kind words. I just want to say that I had the privilege and honor of watching him prepare these shows for trade and what he did was a true art. My family truly thanks you all. Alex |
