Lightbulb Can Crystal play the cello?

I just finished watching the series finale again and it had that lovely scene where helen is playing the cello while faye and the boys are running around in boston looking for the cash and wondered if crystal bernard can play it in real life?

anyone know

I don't think she really does play Cello, But I've always noticed what a great job she does at making it look like she's really playing. Being a musician myself, I always take notice on how well actors do at "playing" instruments as their character, and Crystal always does a GREAT job at making it look like Helen's really playing.

it's great if she really can! it's also ok if she can't. as krista pointed out, she did a great job on making it look like Helen really played the cello.

although, I don't think she really could. otherwise, it should have been mentioned in this article. http://www.cnn.com/SHOWBIZ/Music/990...ystal.bernard/

however, she IS a musician. she plays the piano and she really could sing! you could download a clip on the link I posted. was there any occasion where Helen had to sing?

watching more wings eps has turned me into a crystal bernard fan. even though i don't like country music. i wish tony shaloub would let his fellow wings actors be a guest star in his show Monk. wouldn't that be great? seeing them again!

Thumbs up

Quite some time ago, I did read that she learned some basics of cello playing to help make her scenes more believable. Regardless, I'd say she does a good job.

Thanks for posting that. I always wondered about Crystal playing, myself. When I first started watching "Wings," I heard a lot of references to Helen's playing, but I noticed we didn't really SEE her play, so I assumed she couldn't. Later on, they did show Helen playing, and I figured either Crystal was playing, or someone was playing for her off-screen. It's nice to finally have that mystery settled LOL.

They don't play during every rotation of the show, they are limited to how many times per year they can show that.

Why are they limited to so many times? That's kind of weird isn't it? Well I just hope the keep their plans to play it this time around.

It's hard to explain, but it's a contractual thing. I guess the production companies set this up when they sell the rights to the networks to air the shows, I am not really sure why they limit them though

Since another company owns the show, certain episodes draw in tons more ratings, so they have to draw out some episodes for a certain amount of time to keep the average since they aren't the original owners of the shows they broadcast. @,@
