Oh, the Dastardly and Muttley comment? Was he saying that was part of Scooby Doo? If so he was definitely wrong.

Sat. July 31 - Bugs Bunny and Friends
Rabbit's Feat (Bugs -1960) 3 Ring Wing-Ding (Cool Cat and Col. Rimfire - 1968) Dough For the Do-Do (Porky - 1949) Billboard Frolics (Misc. - 2 strip Technicolor, probably process 3 - 1935) The Chocolate Chase (from Daffy Duck's Easter Special - 1980) A Feud There Was (Egghead - A Tex Avery toon where the original titles were found in 2007--we'll see if the cartoon was remastered [no, I think just finding the titles isn't enough if they don't have the accompanying audio] - 1938) The Hare-Brained Hypnotist (Bugs - 1942) Other than Bugs, all the cartoons are first time on MeTV. The Chocolate Chase may never have been shown since the original TV special. [It was outfitted with separate titles, and it has been on TV after 1980.] |

This is how the original titles looked on A Feud There Was. These are probably the titles that were found in 2007, and the audio sounds correct, even with a sound effect fitting for the cartoon:

Toon In With Me - 8/4/21 - New Episode No. 145 "Don't Be That Guy"
People Are Bunny (Bugs - 1959) The Tom and Jerry Cartoon Kit (1962) The Farm of Tomorrow (MGM Misc. - 1953) Hobo Bobo (WB Misc. - 1947) The Last Hungry Cat (Tweety & Sylvester - 1961) Interesting fact: this last cartoon was co-directed by Hawley Pratt--on many early 60s WB cartoons there is a co-director credit because Friz Freleng and Chuck Jones were busy directing bridging segments of The Bugs Bunny Show. |

Toon In With Me - 8/6/21 - Repeat Episode No. 38 "Hello My BB"
(Wed Feb. 24 - Toon In With Me) ONE FROGGY EVENING (1955), HARE BRUSH (1955), JERRY-GO-ROUND (1965), I NEVER CHANGES MY ALTITUDE (1937), BILLY BOY (1954) Warners: One Froggy Evening - another must-see for animation fans, this gem from Chuck Jones is one of the most celebrated films in animation history. In 2003 it was preserved in the National Film Registry, and in 1994 animation pros voted it 5th of the 50 greatest cartoons of all time (17 of these 50 are Warner cartoons, 10 were directed by Jones, including number 1, What's Opera, Doc?) Hare Brush - this kind-of overlooked Freleng Bugs has a very interesting plot. It wasn't part of the network Saturday morning packages back in the day, but was seen frequently on local TV. |

Sat. Aug. 7 - Bugs Bunny and Friends
THE FAIR HAIRED HARE, HOMELESS HARE, PORKY'S DUCK HUNT, I'D LOVE TO TAKE ORDERS FROM YOU, YANKEE DOOD IT, DOVER BOYS AT PIMENTO UNIVERSITY OR RIVALS OF ROQUEFORT HALL Corrected running order below: Homeless Hare (1950) - Bugs vs. a roughneck building construction worker who digs up Bugs' hole with his steam shovel. A funny Chuck Jones entry, this one has not been on TV for quite awhile, and is first-time for MeTV. I'd Love To Take Orders From You (1936) - early Tex Avery, this time a color Merrie Melody. MeTV unearths another first-timer. Porky's Duck Hunt (1937) - Tex Avery hit the jackpot with this short, prompting many toons to come--Porky's after ducks, particularly Daffy (debuting here)! A b/w Looney Tune, probably not on MeTV before. The Dover Boys at Pimento University or The Rivals of Roquefort Hall (1942) - early Chuck Jones here--all the thirties and forties cartoons today are as originally issued, with full on-screen titles and credits. Yet another first-time on MeTV cartoon. Yankee Dood It (1956) - with Elmer Fudd and Sylvester, another one that is rarely shown on TV. Directed by Friz Freleng. The Fair Haired Hare (1951) - Sam builds his house right over Bugs' hole. An infrequently shown cartoon from Friz Freleng. |

Toon In With Me - 8/9/21 - New Episode No. 147 "Bill Faces The Monsters"
Hair-Raising Hare - (Bugs - 1946) - First appearance of "Gossamer." Funny manicuring scene in this one. In the later version of this picture, Water, Water Every Hare, Bugs does Gossamer's hair. The Case of the Stuttering Pig (Porky - 1937) Pink Paradise (Pink Panther - 1967) The Unshrinkable Jerry Mouse (Tom and Jerry - 1964) Chimp & Zee (WB Misc. - 1968) |
