Lingo

"Here's how we play Lingo: The team in control gets up to five chances to guess a Mystery Word. We'll start with the first letter of the word. Players take turns making guesses, and our board will indicate if the letter is correct, and if it's in the right place. A correct answer is worth 25 points. But if at any time you give us a word that doesn't fit, isn't a real word, or you take too long, control passes to the next team and they'll have a chance to win those points. Now, the team with the correct guess then gets to draw two Lingo Balls with corresponding numbers to their own Lingo Board. All you have to do is (try to) complete a row of numbers, either five across, up and down, or diagonally. Each Lingo is worth 50 points. That's how you play the game." – Chuck Woolery explaining the rules of Lingo in Season 1.

My favorite Lingo line is Chuck Woolery saying on an episode, "My biggest fear is being attacked by a large calico cat named Skippy."

Object for our players is to get three stars in a row either across, up and down or diagonally...it is up to them to figure out if the star is giving a correct answer or making one up, that's how they get the square. (Peter Marshall, Hollywood Squares)

"Say the secret word and split a hundred dollars, it's a common word, something found around the house." (Groucho Marx, You Bet Your Life)

Cash Cab

"There are 13,000 cabs in New York City, but there's only one that pays you. Climb into the Cash Cab, and I'll quiz you all the way to your destination. As the meter clicks, the questions get harder, and the stakes get higher. If you get stumped, you can Shout-Out for help on the phone, or off the street. But be careful my friend, because in this rig, it's three strikes and you're out! So what do you say? You in?"

The Weakest Link

Anne/George: "Welcome…to (a special [name of] edition of) The Weakest Link! Any of the eight/six people in the studio here tonight/today could win up to $1,000,000/$75,000/$100,000 (for the charity of their choice). They don't know each other; however, if they want to win that money, they'll have to work as a team…"
