Yeah, there really wouldn't be much point in having a "Like" button without a "Dislike" button. I agree. I'm all for like/dislike buttons! It'd be fun!

No dislike buttons would cause problems. Most of the other message boards I'm on only has a like button.

I guarantee that a dislike button will start drama and fights. A like button is different and serves a different purpose, as outlined in my original post. I don't know, maybe a like button will start fights too, but all I know is if we can't get one without the other I'd be happy to drop the whole thing.

It sounds horrible. If there was a like button , the site would become similar to Facebook. There's no need for a like button and things are fine as they are right now.

Well I personally think S.O. online is fine just the way it is! Doesn't really need a like button! But if we do get that here, it's OK I won't complain! If more people want it than don't want it it's only fair!

I still hold my ground on the dislike button! I think it will start fights and feelings will be hurt!

Facebook has had a like button for years with no need for a dislike button. Likes are positive, dislikes would just lead to a lot of fights, hurt feelings, and negativity.

A dislike button is not a good idea.

Some of the newer versions of vBulletin have like buttons or links, but I've read they have caused security issues and hackers target them. I don't think we would ever enable a like button.
