Three Shows Canceled; Two Shows Head To Syndication; Watch The New Sitcoms
Three shows are getting the boot. No, none are sitcoms thankfully, but the fourth season Fox drama The OC is getting the boot by Fox, but Fox will send it off with a true series finale on Feb. 22. Meanwhile two first-run syndicated series will be coming to a close--new talk show The Megan Mullally Show and second year show Geraldo at Large. Mullally will be airing through Jan. 26, then will be replaced by other NBC Universal owned shows like i Village Live, Access Hollywood encores, etc. Or stations will get access to the new Fox-owned morning show launching Jan. 22 called The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet. And 20th Century Fox has ceased production on Geraldo at Large. It is said to be leaving in mid-January, which is perfect for the Fox-owned stations that will air The Morning Show.
MGM, New Line Television and Comedy Central announced today that two of the cable network's most popular shows, RENO 911! and Chappelle's Show, will be the first programs to be syndicated by MGM under the new strategic relationship with New Line. Both series are available for syndication for fall of 2007, and MGM will handle all station and national ad sales.
And if you are one of the people who missed the sitcom premieres of laugh-out-loud sitcoms The Knights of Prosperity and In Case of Emergency, you will have a second chance to watch them tomorrow (Friday) at 9/8 central on ABC. Then you will be caught up in time for the next new episodes of both on Wednesday. Both shows premiered last night with "could have been better, could have been worse" numbers...but we need next Wednesday to be better, to survive American Idol the week after. So, come on and watch the pilot encores this Friday and PLEASE watch next Wednesday because I have seen both second episodes, and both are very good and better than the pilots even. Don't let the greatness of these shows (especially the Knights) go to waste by not watching.
And you can also watch the pilot for The Knights of Prosperity on abc.com...so no excuse of not giving it a chance!
