WAZZUP!! What's up is that the second season of the hit FOX sitcom, MARTIN, is now available on DVD! Say WHAT? That's right, all 27 episodes are now available! MARTIN stars Martin Lawrence as Martin Payne, an outrageous radio show host. Tisha Campbell co-stars as his girlfriend Gina Waters. Rounding out the cast are Carl Anthony Payne II as Cole Brown, Thomas Mikal Ford as Tommy Strong, Tichina Arnold as Pam James and Garrett Morris as Stan, with Jon Gries as Shawn.

Memorable Episodes / Notable Guest Stars:

Some of the memorable episodes this season include: "Really, Gina Is Not My Lover" in which Gina has a bad dentist appointment leaving her doped on Novocaine, slurring her speech and drooling -- on the eve of Martin winning Man of the Decade. "Got to Be There" is the one in which Martin and Gina party away from the other. "Beat It" in which Tommy and Cole fight over a woman. "Baby, It's You" in which Martin might have to deliver a baby in his apartment. "Control" is the one in which Gina throws out tickets that are Martin's, and after finding out Sheneneh has them, Sheneneh holds it over her head and enjoys Gina's suffering. "To Kill a Talking Bird" in which Mama Payne leaves her talking bird with Martin and the bird constantly insults Gina. "Hollywood Swinging" Parts 1 and 2 in which Martin strives to get a better job. "Thanks for Nothing" in which the relatives pop in on Thanksgiving. "Love Is In Your Face" Parts 1 and 2 in which Gina gets a job in New York and it drives a wedge between Martin and Gina. And much more!

In addition, the guest stars this season include Ajai Sanders, Charnele Brown, Fred Berry, Judyann Elder, John Witherspoon and more!

The front cover is green in color and features, naturally, a large photo of Martin Lawrence as Martin, with Tisha Campbell as Gina and Martin Lawrence as Jerome. The back of the box features a great description of the series as well as some more photos. The set itself is pretty compact in design. It is a flip fold case, but it's more compact than most flip-fold sets are. You open it and there are two discs on each side. The discs themselves are orange and green in color.

Disc 1 is orange in color and features Martin Lawrence as Martin and contains episodes 1-7. Disc 2 is green in color, features Tisha Campbell as Gina and contains episodes 8-14. Disc 3 is green in color, features Tichina Arnold as Pam and contains episodes 15-21. Disc 4 is orange in color, features Thomas Mikal Ford as Tommy and Carl Anthony Payne II as Cole, and contains episodes 22-27.

Menu Design and Navigation:

The main menu immediately pops up and features three video clips playing as the theme plays and after it is done it loops. There are two selections on all of the discs "Episode Index" and "Languages". "Episode Index" takes you to a sub-menu and a list of the episodes that you can select to play. "Languages" takes you to another sub-menu where you can select English as the language and English, French or Spanish subtitles.

Video and Audio Quality:

For a series that's actually 15 years old (wow!) from its debut date, the video is clean and full of color. The audio itself is in great shape, so nothing to be worried about. There are English, French and Spanish subtitle options and the episodes are closed-captioned. Each episode runs approx. 22 minutes in length, which is about the norm for uncut episodes in the 1990s. Chapter skips are available on each episode.

Special Features:

After the first season set had a few extras, one would think this set would have something similar...but it does not. There are no extras at all! Say WHAT!?

Final Comments:

The show just gets more outrageous each season! A hilarious sitcom, I think any fan of sitcoms would enjoy this show. It is fun and it is hilarious. The set is nice and colorful but it is a shame that after two bonus features last season, we get zero this time! Overall, not much to say. I would like to see commentary though. Anyway, get this set to continue your collection!
