Not much to see, nowadays. The closure of the school, in 1966, gutted the community. There's a community center and a church, but that is it, for visitors. Donnan, one county to the north, is a bit more scenic, what with the historical markers.

No. Never showed her but he sometimes spoke of a wife. But than other times it implied he was single, like the ep. where the pretty lady farmer came to Hooterville and all the men liked her and asked her to the dance including Mr. Haney !

Oh , I guess we can add the lady farmer to the census ,I guess she stayed!

I just saw the episode where Haney hit on Lisa's mom and asked her out. So if he was married it wasn't much of a marriage or an OPEN marriage!

I don't think they ever showed "Mrs.Haney" because who on earth would marry Mr.Haney??

Also G.A. takes place in a surreal Twilight Zone type universe, so I'd say reality isn't exactly static.... At times maybe there are a couple hundred ppl in Hooterville and other times maybe on 28 lol

In 2005, Monti lost its church, which not only shut down the church, but also the parish hall. This left no public gathering space in the hamlet. The last time Mr. Haney mentioned his wife was near the end of season 4. The episode where Lisa's mom visited was the start of season 5 and Haney explicitly states he is a bachelor, leaving us to believe they divorced.

After season 4 he never mentioned his wife again, so there is some internal consistency in this case.

Another Hooterville resident is Mr. Colby and his two Sons ,but the Sons are about to move away from Hooterville to the city !

LMAO! I was about to post that. I thought they said 48? Regardless, how could they go from 28 residents last season to 46 or 48 this season??

Yet the way they make references to people living in the town it's fair to say at least a few hundred people live there. You wouldn't have a train stop and airport for a town of only 28 people!
