DYK . . that US flags at Disney World were purposefully made to be missing a stripe or a star, technically making them a pennant; so that flag etiquette does not have to be followed, i.e. illuminating at night, or raising and lowering at appropriate times.

I actually mentioned that a while ago...

The only real U.S. flag is on Main Street at the entrance.

DYK the village of Shani Shingnapur (India) is famous for not having a door or lock on a single house and there had not been a recording of a criminal act for almost 400 years. In 2010 their first theft ever was reported.

DYK . . that the smallest surviving baby every born was 8.6 ounces (about the weight of an apple) at 23 weeks gestation. In 2019, micro-preemie Baby Saybie was born in San Diego, California, and is doing well today.

DYK . . . that, in 1931, an African-American woman, Jackie Mitchell, pitched against the Yankees during an exhibition game, striking out both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. What's more impressive: Mitchell was 17 years old at the time.

Beans and peanuts aren't the only types of edible plants that can make their own nitrogen fertilizer out of the air. Sugarcane gets most of its nitrogen from N2-fixing bacteria, and a few years ago the discovery of a corn variety supporting nitrogen fixation was announced.
