One other song that I considered for 1979 is the Michael Johnson song This Night Won't Last Forever, but it didn't quite make the cut so I'll give it an honorable mention.

I could have included a few more titles but when the list reached over 400 songs I thought I'd stop and draw the line there.

I like Carefree Highway, didn't make my list but nice follow up hit for Gordon Lightfoot after Sundown.

For 1979, I can give another honorable mention to Suzi Quatro for the song She's In Love With You. It wasn't a big hit, only reached #41 on Billboard but I've always liked the song.
