Default Dick Wolf fires writer on Law & Order: SVU spinoff...

for threatening to "light up" looters

https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/dic...ts-1234623190/

Craig Gore, a former prisoner, professional thief and member of a robbery/burglary crew who ascended to become a veteran producer on S.W.A.T. and Wolf's Chicago P.D. before he was hired last month to work on Christopher Meloni's Stabler Law & Order: SVU organized crime unit spinoff, has been fired after social media posts surfaced last night of him holding an assault rifle with the threat to "light up" looters amid the George Floyd protests in Los Angeles. "Sunset (Blvd) is being looted two blocks from me," he wrote on Facebook. "You think I wont light motherf***ers up who are trying to f*** w/ my property I worked all my life for? Think again…" When Drew Janda, who works on OWN's Greenleaf, brought Gore's posts to Meloni's attention, the actor responded: "Truth: Matt Olmstead is my Showrunner...I have gotten no word on ANY hirings....I have no idea who this person is or what they do." Dick Wolf's Wolf Entertainment, which on Sunday tweeted a statement with the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag, released a statement Tuesday morning announcing Gore's termination. “I will not tolerate this conduct, especially during our hour of national grief," Wolf said in the statement. "I am terminating Craig Gore immediately.” Gore's post came on the same night that his former show S.W.A.T. released a statement calling for “law enforcement to de-escalate conflicts, not exacerbate them.”
