I totally get your fear. Iím terrified of leaving the house too. I have to to pay bills, but am putting it off for a few weeks, and pay all at once.

Iím kinda old-school, and have never had deliveries. I have enough food for a week and a half. After that, I will shop in smaller stores like West Side markets first thing when they open. Go in and out as quickly as I can wearing gloves and a mask. Spraying cart down with Lysol and washing my hands and everything as soon as I get home.

Fortunately, my appetite is very low, so the food is lasting. Buying basically spinach, blueberries, grapefruits, soups, canned tuna, powdered/canned milk, cheese. And a little fresh chicken for chicken soup.

Please take care of yourself. Itís really scary right now in NYC.
You will think I'm a big nerd, but I was really sad and upset to read your post about how your friend died and you weren't feeling well. I became very scared for you (someone I don't even really know) so now I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better. I've been very worried for you. Be sure to eat lots of that chicken soup. And you might want to drink ginger ale to soothe your tummy. I like a lot of fizzy bubble drinks like seltzer, ginger ale and even caffeine free diet cola. I've been feeling fine (physically) so far but I am so worried about April 8th when I have to leave the house. My elderly dad had to leave the house once to go to the laundromat and I made him take along some anti-bacterial wipes. Other than that trip to the laundromat, nobody in this house has left the property or had any kind of human interaction other than ourselves or the delivery people for about two or three seconds. On April 8th I gotta load up my credit cards so I can order more Target, Stop & Shop and restaurant foods.

You are not a big nerd at all. Iím touched by your concern. And thanks, I meant to put Diet Gingerale and Coke Zero on my shopping list.

Don't worry, I'm not complacent. I'm using my hand sanitizer and staying at least 6 feet away from anyone.

It's now ILLEGAL to go out where I am unless you're going to the grocery store, pharmacy, or gas station! The police can fine you or arrest you if they find you outside without a good reason!

I don't know if they're actually enforcing this but they can if they want. I hardly go out now anyway.

I live alone in the country, no close friends so I am good in a sad depressing way
Since you're alone (like me) we don't have to worry about catching the Coronavirus!

I found this on Firefox last week, and thought that it would be worth sharing:

The World Health Organization has a recommendation for mental health: only check the news once or twice a day.
