Default 22 years is too long...

It's time for Gloria Schulze to be arrested.

This case is so infuriating and I've always held a personal hatred for this sea hag. I think it's a combination of several things. That my grandfather was killed by a drunk driver, of all the cruel footnotes to this story (Schulze never spending a day in jail, skipping drug tests, etc), and that the victim Angela Maher was a crusader against drunk driving and was on her way to pick up someone that needed a ride. Ugh!

I simply cannot fathom how on Earth this dumb bitch has eluded capture more than 2 decades later. 2016 needs to be the year the Mahers get to see justice served.

I agree, I've always wondered how she was just able to disappear so easily! She's had to have resurfaced at some point by now....or she is pulling a Margo Freshwater and her new family hasn't a clue. This bitch needs to get caught! I wonder if there is a statute of limitation on vehicle manslaughter?

There is no statute of limitations on vehicular manslaughter in Arizona. If they catch Gloria Schulze, she would only have to serve 20 years on a manslaughter charge in Arizona. It is possible that Gloria could receive a new trial and be given a different sentence upon her capture, unless they hold onto the original sentence she was given. I think she has gotten away with this for far too long. I wonder if Rose Marie Maher is still living? I read that her husband Donald, Angela and her brother Donald Jr's father, died in 1990 of cancer, 4 years prior to Angela's untimely death. I really hope Mrs. Maher and Donald Jr are still pursuing justice for Angela. The court failed the Maher family, and let Schulze get by with too much. It is time to find Gloria Schulze and give her the punishment she deserves.

Her disappearance wasn't noticed for some time as nobody was checking up on her. Her family was wealthy, so they may have had a hand in helping her out of town.

That would be better than nothing though. I think she's in her early 50's now, so she would be an old woman by the time she gets out.

I wouldn't be surprised, considering she's received every break possible up to this point. But being that she didn't bother showing up for the first trial, they should stick with the original one.

I read a recent article and she's still living as of up to a little while ago. The article said she was 77.

That is correct, Angela's father did die. What's really sad is that Angela (on the day she was killed) was visiting her mother for her birthday because she didn't want her to be alone.

They absolutely did, in every way possible. It's one of the things that really gnaws at me about this case.

Here is an article from 3 years ago, saying nobody in the system cares
http://www.azcentral.com/story/lauri...ulze/13491551/

Her mom was mentioned as 77 in the article so she would now be 80. Disgraceful incompetent behaivor by the judge in that case.

What I found odd about this case, after reading a few articles, was that she was not wearing a seatbelt. Not that that could/would have prevented anything, but I am just surprised that for someone being involved w/ SADD, etc.. wouldn't be wearing a seatbelt. Again, just an observation and not saying it would have changed anything.

Wasn't there an article on how at some point she worked for a political campaign in Colorado or something?

Also, Gloria's birthday is 10/26. It seems by all the news articles, her family was uncooperative and probably helped her to disappear. Why can't they tap her families phones or sort through their trash for discarded cards ect.

Sad. I want this one solved. Wouldn't be surprised if Gloria Schulze left the country a while ago.

I don't want this thread to get sidetracked but the subject matter is pretty much the same...and disgusting. We've mentioned before that if Gloria Schulze ever got captured, a manslaughter punishment would feel like a slap on the wrist to all the pain she caused.

Ethan Couch, the 'Affluenza Teen' who killed four people in a drunk driving car crash, fled the country and eventually got captured.....is going to be freed from jail.

He should've been electrocuted to death with car batteries.

We had a local case where a woman similar to Gloria Schulze killed a popular teacher while driving drunk and fled the scene. She was sentenced to less than 2 years.

Still can't believe this %$#$ was never captured, wealthy parents or not!

I think everyone with a Twitter needs to get her photo out there. "MURDERER AT LARGE" may get some attention. @ to some celebs, too. She's probably living in California with family. I also feel like the attorney knows her whereabouts. Can't prove that, but it's a gut feeling.

Bingo. This wasn't mentioned in the UM segment at all. And it doesn't necessarily change anything, because Gloria Schulze is still responsible for the crash. But if Angela was wearing her seat belt, she might have survived.
