Exclamation SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 1977

30 YEARS AGO TODAY!

The Tom & Jerry/Mumbly Show aired for the last time on ABC Saturday Morning; a week later its former timeslot was given to the first half-hour of The All-New Super Friends Hour, a new Hanna-Barbera creation. It would immediately switch to syndication that very fall, when the 1975 T&J TV shorts aired with theatrical-era MGM Tom & Jerry cartoons on local stations until Turner grabbed them up in the mid 1980s for a whole new run on cable television.

That picture of Tom and Jerry that's posted is the ones I preffered the most. It was more updated to me tan the ones with the heavyset lady in the kitchen

And speaking of the 1975 T&J cartoons,

Aaron Handy is a big fans of the 1975 Tom & Jerry cartoons, but I found this video courtesy of Speedyc395 where he did a description of an old Bell & Howell movie projector. On this clip, it features the 1975 episode of "Tom & Jerry" complete with the opening and closing credits as well as parts of the main cartoon.

I wish Aaron Handy would love this one. This was taken from a 16mm print for syndication use. Enjoy!
