As for rap making it so kids don't appreciate other forms of music....I can definetely see how this could happen. But I think the situation is worsened even further by the cutting back of music education in our schools.
Thanks, Bootsy Whoosh. I stand corrected.

It's a shame that our education system cuts back on music education in our schools. Ever noticed how Great Britain has produced many great musicians? I think that's due to the fact they make music a permanent part of their curriculum. Also, they start teaching them music at a very early age. It's not right that our education system places more emphasis on academics over music. It should be equal.

Elton John said he thinks Nsync are all "untalented"...and that he doesn't like what they do. The only reason he sang with Eminem, and has teeny bopper boybands in his video is for publicity.

Thumbs down

Personally I felt sick when Eminem duetted with Elton John.
Elton was just doing it so the kids would think he was "cool" and Eminem was just doing to to stop all the sh#t he was getting from gay rights groups. Neither of them did it for the right reasons and yet everyone thought it was really cool and the public totally bought it.
If I were Elton I'd be ashamed of myself. Eminem is a homophobic, ignorant little sh#t head and I wouldn't even sit in the same room as him let alone work with him!!!!

I'm glad Will Smith has a successful movie career, because from what little bit I've heard from the hip-hop "scene", it seems Will Smith isn't well-respected as a rapper anymore. I think that's a big shame. Will Smith is not only a very talented rapper, but he is successful without totally degrading women or glorifying violence. The only thing I don't like about him is he samples alot, but that's a worse sin than being degrading.

He even put a song out a few years ago sort of making fun of other rappers, saying how he still sell records without stooping to a low level. Maybe that's why they don't like him...
