Just checking back in to the boards, after stumbling into an UM episode on Spike last night, for the first time in a while.
Anyway, here was a Pictures thread that started last year, that just never really seemed to catch legs. Most the ones mentioned there have been updated here (excellent work on some of these, dynoguy!). A couple of others that I had added way back when (in the linked post) are the Jamie Santos house ("Stonehedge... like the bush"), and the John/Linda Sohus house (Christopher Chichester / Crowe / Rockefeller) http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...3&postcount=18 |

I wonder if anyone could see if the big ice cream cone shape building is standing in the rebecca young case. Or roughly the area where ethel kidd was found, or the hope graves burial site in texas

The addresses referenced here - scroll down to the bottom, right above the "Poltergeist little girl" picture are: 15802 Poppets Court (the Sam and Judith Haney house) and 803 Poppets Way (the Ben and Jean Williams house) From trying to compare Google Street Views with the houses pictured in the UM re-enactment, I can't tell if they filmed it in the actual location or not. |

He might be able to provide an address; though from what I can gather, the "Twisty Treat" (ice cream cone building referenced in the segment) is no longer in existence. That doesn't mean that the building isn't - just that the business isn't. |

It was easy to find the little post office in Burr Hill, though. Ethel drives by this place in the beginning of the segment. ![]() Not that different from the Unsolved Mysteries screen caps... ![]() |

David and Cynthia Dowaliby's house in Midlothian, Illinois where Jaclyn was kidnapped. The house is located on 148th Place. The basement window that was broken is on the back of the house, not on the driveway like in the reenactment.
![]() Jaclyn's body was found 4 miles away behind this apartment complex on Canal Street in Blue Island. ![]() |

Just "for the sake of argument", I'd like to throw this out there. At the very beginning of the UM segment, Stack mentions that "on this spot, gunfire echoed down these streets". From what I can gather, it sure looks like he's standing on Belford Avenue, with the camera facing south towards Interceptor Street. I'm about 90% confident that I've placed the red arrow at the same exact spot on the sidewalk - in both the UM segment shot, as well as the Google Maps shot. ![]() ![]() |

the location of (what was then) TK Harty's Saloon in Athens, GA.
![]() my source for the location: a pretty fascinating article on the circumstances surrounding the murder, from OnlineAthens.com. "Now the site of the Athens Community Council on Aging, T.K.'s was packed with a mix of University of Georgia students, professionals, laborers and aspiring rock stars." |

You can throw this in the Connecticut River Valley Killer file.
The segment mainly focused on the attack of Jane Boroski. The other victims pictures were shown with the date of their murders but not much else other than the discoveries of Bernice Courtermanche and Ellen Fried's remains being found just 1 mile apart in the same woods. (Although, there was a brief and chilling reenactment scene that showed Ellen Fried begging for her life before being thrown to the ground and stabbed in slow motion complete with creepy music.) On July 20, 1984, she finished her shift at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH where she worked as a nurse. She left at 11:00 p.m. and went to a payphone outside Leo's Market to call her sister in California. This is where she was eventually abducted by the killer. Leo's Market is located on 130 Main Street in Claremont. And there is still a payphone outside... ![]() Ellen's abduction was similar to Angela Hammond's in several ways. She didn't have a telephone in her apartment so that was why she was there in the first place. Angela's phone conversation wasn't more than several minutes or so. Ellen talked with her sister for a little over an hour. In both cases, a truck kept circling the block which made the women a little nervous. Ellen actually told her sister to a wait a minute. She dropped the phone, went to start her car and then went back to the phone to finish talking with her sister. The main difference, of course was that Angela was taken during her phone conversation while Ellen's killer waited until she hung up before abducting her. These screen shots of Leo's Market are a little better without the sunlight... ![]() ![]() Ellen's remains were found nearly a year and half later in September 1985, approximately 8 miles away in Newport. Google street view obviously won't let you go into the woods or on dirt roads so I took this screen cap from the E Special that covered the case. ![]() Ellen's remains were found here along the Sugar River. Just like the other victims of the Valley killer, she was stabbed to death. |

TARA CALICO (continued)
This is the convenience store in Port St. Joe, Florida where the photo was found of the boy and girl tied up in a van. The photo was found on June 15, 1989. ![]() This is a side view of the store. I drew an arrow to where the photo was found in the reenactment. There are gas pumps in front of the store now that weren't there in 1989. ![]() |

MICHAEL FRANCKE:
This is the Dome Building, also known as the Oregon Department of Corrections at 2575 Center Street in Salem, Oregon. Michael was murdered here on January 17, 1989. I drew an arrow to where his body was found (behind the tree) where he tried to escape his attackers, breaking a window in the process. ![]() A random fact I found out from Wikipedia. This building is also where the movie, "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" was filmed in 1975. |
