Wadada. That segment and the sketches still scares me

Mine was pretty difficult because it wasn't discussed so much, so I'll add another clue:

My son was arrested because of a video sent by a viewer that has him "clowning off " to the camera.

I remember reading about it here in the last couple weeks or so. The part about the city having the name that's the same as a state sparked a memory, but not enough for me to recall what case it was.

Two more hints:

Wyoming

My son was wanted on for fraud and embezzlement, not for my murder, and he also stole from my mother

Putting all unsolved243's clues into one post for easier reference.

1. I lived in a city that's name was also a state

2. My son is a suspect in my death

3. Our last name can be a first name

4. My son was arrested because of a video sent by a viewer that has him "clowning off " to the camera.

5. Wyoming

6. My son was wanted on for fraud and embezzlement, not for my murder, and he also stole from my mother

Yay! I got it! Strangely (to me) this is not the case I was thinking of that I had read earlier involving a city that had the name of a state. Also, don't even remember seeing this one. You have it in your personal collection?

Paraphrased from your entry on the UM wikia page:

Dorothea Irwin

Wyoming, Ohio

On September 12, 1983, 59 year old Dorothea Irwin was brutally murdered in her home in Wyoming, Ohio.

The prime suspect in her death is her son, John Irwin. He vanished in 1986, has used worthless credit cards in many of his scams, and is wanted for fraud and embezzlement. He is also wanted for questioning in his mother's murder.

Viewer's tips helped authorities arrest John James Irwin in Texas. He served several years in prison, but was released and has never been charged in his mother's murder. However, he still remains the prime suspect in the case.

1. We were teen girls who had flirtatious lifestyles

2. We moved from Colorado to Arizona to get away from the cold weather there

3. We were both found dead in the desert months after last being seen outside a mini-mart talking to an unidentified man in a blue truck

Correct! The case isn't very common, but it's on the forbidden site. The case, however, is under John James Irwin, not Dorothea Irwin.
