Cool re: Christian concert

I'll tell you of a Christian concert that was the BEST and WORST of both worlds: In Sept. 1984, I went to see Steve Taylor and Mylon
LeFevre at the Seattle Center Arena. This was a big Christian concert with two major names (at the time). Steve Taylor was one of the first Christian new wave artists, one who really rocked and had something important to say in his music. He was touring in support of his album "Meltdown" and that place was going CRAZY!!!!! Everyone was dancing in the aisles, whipping it up, and he was just so cool. And yeah, some security chump was making his rounds telling us to sit down and all that...
But we were going nuts to tunes like "Meltdown at Madame Toussaud's", "Steeplechase", "I Want to Be a Clone", "We Don't Need No Color Code", "Over My Dead Body", etc.
And afterward I went out to meet him and buy a button of him--he was so cool, he had both a red and a green sneaker on each foot. I told him I was really excited that he was in a Christian music magazine with the OTHER Christian new wave fiend Lisa Whelchel and he asked me if I had met her. I WIIIIIIIISSSSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! (This was a few years before I met her, I had been the BIGGEST Lisa-fan for a few months at that time). He was really cool and fun to talk to.

But the BAD thing of the concert was with Mylon LeFevre's set, which was mostly Southern Fried soft-pop rock. I had seen him before at Jesus Northwest that summer and thought he was cool and rockin', but this concert now was a big lame disappointment.
He was telling the audience it wasn't appropriate for the Lord to have his children pogoing and going crazy and all that, did a little
"dancing" gesture to prove his point.... He explained he opened for the Who in Seattle in the Coliseum next door about 10 years before, when he was a "prodigal son" type ex-Christian rocker whoe got into drugs and partied with Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and all the big names of rock at that time. (He actually was one of the very first Christian rockers in the late 60's.) But how UN-ROCK & ROLL was this guy, anyway?? Being told we can't dance and go crazy and rock out... I didn't pay attention to too much of his show after that....Mylon LeFevre...never.
