I in hindsight liked the early Fonzie of season 1 and 2. He was more realistic instead of ridiculous. He was good with the girls but was not surrounded by a dozen girls. Also in the episode were Potsies bike gets stolen by The Dukes he brings several toughs to back him up. Yes he was more of the strong silent type.

Exactly!! The first 2 years were very realistic before it went off into fantasy.

People watch TV for fantasy, not reality. Do you really think that there is a house someplace in private life where people scheme to vote each other out so someone will give them $500,000? Or an Englishman who insults people that can't sing? Fonzie's talents were fantasies for people that couldn't snap their fingers and have all the pretty girls crowd around them.

I look at Happy Days as being two different shows with the same name.

One took place for seasons one and two. And the rest took place during seasons three through eleven.

Great argument, comparing Happy Days to reality shows. Obviously people who prefer the first 2 seasons of Happy Days think reality shows are real.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there's no such thing as a "reality show."
