Quote:
The Ropers is an American sitcom that ran from March 13, 1979 to May 22, 1980 on ABC. The series is a spinoff of Three's Company and based on the popular British sitcom George and Mildred. The series focused on middle-aged couple Stanley and Helen Roper (played by Norman Fell and Audra Lindley) who were landlords to Jack, Janet, Chrissy, and Larry on Three's Company.

The show was never great. It wasn't awful either except for the theme song. I'd say it boned when the young woman moved in with the Ropers. Were they trying to attract a younger audience by bringing in a 20 something woman? It just didn't work. That was towards the end of the series anyway so it's not a big deal.

And since they added her they were also supposed to add a young guy to the cast to live with the neighbors.

Being the only young person on the show without any other cast member her age defeated her purpose on the show

I guess they were trying to turn the Ropers into foster parents or something, but we already saw a little of that on Three's Company with the way they were with the trio sometimes.

Was it ever revealed on TC why they didn't have any kids?
