On Wednesday, I had the iron turned on high and was very annoyed that it wasn't working. I then saw the plug had pulled out of the socket. I thought, well, if I was like that one lady on UM, I could have powered it just with my annoyance!

I'm in the midst of filling out applications for Ph.D. programs. I have found that many require a letter describing why you want to be admitted. One of the programs I am looking at is very new with their inaugural class starting next fall. Obviously, I'm writing about that in my letter and how it will be exciting to be a part of a new program. My thoughts shifted to Bonnie Wilder and I'm so tempted to write something like "it's a new program we can build it together!"

LOL I'm in the midst of grad school applications myself. I would love to write something like this

"I look forward to working with your organization"

When you see two adult males riding speed bikes in a typically quiet-dead neighborhood at midnight. Stayed late tonight at work and saw that on my way home. Instantly thought of this thread after it crossed my mind that they could be criminals.

From time to time little scenarios run through my mind, such as, "Well, I emailed my sisters before starting for such-and-such a place, so they'll know where to start looking for my remains."

My old cell phone made a sort of musical tone turning on and then took so long warming up I was sure I would witness a crime, go desperately to call 911, and the criminal would hear my phone turning on and come over and kill me before it was even warmed up! My new phone is much quicker and quieter!

So yesterday I went to the store and I heard the same bird that is chirping at the beginning of the blind river segment.
