Every time I do grocery shopping after work (it's kinda deserted that late) I walk past this old, derelict soda machine and I think of the CT River Valley case too.

Every morning, I expect to get a letter postmarked "Columbus, Ohio", and handwritten in big, blocky letters. I am always disappointed when I do not.

I work for a government agency and itís not unusual for people to leave strange messages on our office voicemail after hours. Some mornings I half expect to hear ďJudy Himes is alive and living in Omaha,Ē but it hasnít happened yet.

I've had flashes of unsolved mysteries a few times over the years when I've walked home from our local bar alone at night in the summer. It's only half a mile from home and I live in a pretty safe cute town but of course I always think about show when that happens.

Just the other day I found my mother's adopted sister and am in the process of reuniting her with my gram. I was looking for the UM cameras the whole time I'll tell ya.

My boss likes to leave early on Fridays (which is impossible because she's late everyday and takes forever with each patient) so I told her, in a mock-inspirational tone, "you can do it! we can build it together! [referring to the dream of actually leaving early]" My extremely dense boss thought I was being serious and was complimenting me on my positive attitude. I just shook my head and thought to myself "if she only knew what happened to the employer after that dandy quote was made." Muahahaha.

If I go out at night and forget my phone and wonder if I should drive back and get it or just drive on I just think back to old UM episodes of kidnapping and unsolved murders. "...she was never seen again."

ATM's at night? Forget it. I don't want some creepy man appearing to the side of me in the atm security photos.

Whenever I'm listening to Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" it reminds of the cop or detective in the Kristie Gunderson Lee case. "..blood stains on the carpet."

Last night we had a delicious holiday dinner catered at my job, and apparently our scrumptious feast was pretty high in sodium b/c afterwards I was SO FREAKIN' THIRSTY. I finished my water bottle at work, thus running out of H20, and as soon as my shift ended I went -- tires spinning -- into the first gas station I could find for a refreshing soda....of course, yet again I thought of the stabbing victim in the New Hampshire Serial Killer case....

When you're thirsty, you're thirsty!

When my husband asks me to mix his protein shake.

When I reach into the medicine cabinet to take some NyQuil.

I know its been discussed ad nauseam, but what a disaster of a story that one is for all involved.

I find myself memorizing license plates thanks to Dennis Depue.

If I draw a blank (which is often) I just simply reply "I have to get back to the fish" and just walk away.

I had another one happen to me at work the other night:

It was slow at work and thankfully we're allowed to just sit around and chit chat when that happens. Anyway, my co-worker, who is drinking a can of Monster energy drink, turns to me and is like, "hey, did you ever see that youtube video of that lady who claims this stuff is like, evil?"

Me, interest piqued: "Umm, no, haha. What video?"

My co-worker goes on to tell me that apparently someone on the internet (LOL) has decided Monster is....satanic! Bwaha!

Pretty amusing stuff:

The other day I realized that the university I attend actually has a building named after Max Planck. Of course, my thoughts immediately shifted to the NDE segment with Tom Sawyer.

Nice.

We had a lecture hall in the bottom floor of the McClung museum--the same McClung family Ellen McClung Berry was born into. There's also an art scholarship named after her specifically as she was once an art professor at the University of Tennessee.

My husband randomly threw in a "Why don't you guys just leave us...alone" (the infamous acting in the Mark Adams segment) in conversation this week. I cracked up because while he does watch UM from time to time with me, I never thought he actually pays much attention to the segments.
