At least I believe that was on He and She. It's been a long time.

Great show. I got mine from USA, Canada and some from film. One of the great lost shows of all time.

Thanks for the update via email... I don't check sitcomsonline very often. Can't wait to see Stanley Beamish is dvd quality!

You mentioned Second Hundred Years... is there a decent and complete set of that show around?

Don't know what you mean by "around". I have most of them, a mixture of 16mm film and off-air from USA network. Haven't found anyone who has them all though. That doesn't mean no one does.

Is there a way to translate the German Amazon site to English?

I don't believe so, but there are people at Amazon.de who speak/read English. And the site has a "Help" section for people who want to order in English. They sent me the link:

http://www.amazon.de/hilfe/englisch

My wife and I had a bit of difficulty navigating, but my order appears to have gone through.

Default At loooooooong last!

It's here: a real, OFFICIAL DVD release of Mr. Terrific!

I absolutely can't believe my luck. (Normally it doesn't run anywhere near this good.)

Tomorrow's a work day for us postal employees, so I don't have time to go through the whole set tonight. I've already run the 3 eps which, up until now, have only been available as German dubs as well as the 1 ep that was partially in German.

I also ran the 1st ep: Matchless which is (disappointingly) edited very similarly to the TVLand print that's been circulating for years.

tvobscurities has asked me to review the set for his website, so I'll let you know when I get that done for him.

In the meantime, I hope to just be able to find the time to sit back and enjoy.

This is just really fantastic news. Was another show from the same period ever released, the one that was supposedly responsible for the non-existent delay?

I don't believe that show's been released yet; nor has the title been announced as far as I know. Ofcourse "Immer, wenn er Pillen nahm" (Mr. Terrific) wound up being released on the originally scheduled date, so I'm just as happy. (July 17, BTW, is actually supposed to be Stanley Beamish's birthday. I imagine it was just a coincedence that the DVD came out that day, but I'll just pretend it was a birthday present to my childhood hero.)

In the meantime, "Run, Buddy, Run" was released on DVD in Germany, I believe, on July 1. Unfortunately it is not only MORE expensive than the "Mr. Terrific" DVD, it DOES NOT have an English language option.

We'll just have to keep waiting on that one.

As for Mr. Terrific: 4 more eps and I can write my review.

A little difficult to say. I bought TWO sets, plus I paid an extra 30 Euros for International Express shipping. (That's how I got it on the actual release date.)

I'd pre-ordered, so they just debited my wife's Amazon account after shipping.

But I think 1 Euro usually comes out to around $1.30-$1.40 USD.

Cost for me was $45.24 (US dollars). Mine came today, and all I can say is yipppeee! Oh to be in second grade again, watching my favorite superheroes! Now I have all four complete hero sets: Batman, Green Hornet, Captain Nice, and now Mr. Terrific!

Oh, if I'd only known how complicated life was going to get, I would really have made it a point to enjoy those carefree years. But now, at least, I can watch my "Mr. Terrific" and enjoy remembering.

Anyway, my review is now up on the Television Obscurities website, so anyone who's interested can take a look.
