Default Former President Jimmy Carter has cancer

The one-term President of the United States, former peanut farmer Jimmy Carter has liver cancer,it was announced today. His presidency left a mixed legacy, dominated by economic problems at home and difficult foreign policy issues, but one cannot help but admire this 90 year-old since he left the White House in 1980 with his efforts as world ambassador achieving considerable success through the Carter Centre, and he was rightly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 in recognition of these endeavours. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-33898331

I was thinking, Jimmy is 90 and 40 years ago he was running for president. He was elected in 1976. So he was 51 or so. With all the current contenders looking to take the presidents seat, Jimmy was young. I can't get over how many over age 60 people are running. Isn't Bernie Sanders 73. Jimmy has lived a good long life, but I still wish him well.

Oh No

Sad to hear that...both him a Bush I aren't doing too well...I wonder what would happen if they pass on the same day? (The only other time two presidents passed was on July 4, 1826 with John Adams and Thomas Jefferson...I'm trying not to scare anyone)...

I was just going into my senior year of high school 40 years ago. Sad to think, I try not to, that I may only have about 25 years left.
