Yes, I've always believed that even if Michael Scott Martin was actually guilty of the crime, there's no way he should have served that much time. Especially when you see updates about fugitives like Greg Webb and Jerry Gervasoni getting released after serving less than ten years for murder. Compared to the other Final Appeal segments, Martin's crime was pretty small, but I can see why they'd be compelled to feature it on the show because of the ridiculous life sentence.

Frustrating updates on Amazon? It seems to me the last few seasons, a large majority of them are still unsolved, and those that were arrested/convicted for the crime have already been released.

Maybe I didn't pay as close attention to the earlier season updates, but reading the updates (or lack thereof) have been somewhat frustrating to me.

Iím not implying anything that Amazon has done or even the UM staff has done is wrong in any way. What Iím referring to is that many of the cases that were solved over the years, we are getting updates with more recent info. Many of these are cases where the guilty party (murderer, rapist, etc) were basically given life sentences, but have since been released. Itís just irritating for someone that should remain locked up (or even executed so far as Iím concerned in many cases) has been released after serving a few years.

I really wish the Updates on the Amazon episodes were more scary. I love how on the Lifetime episodes, they would also suddenly end the segment and go to a blue screen with text with very creepy music. Much better than the original Update music in my opinion.

Yeah I liked the original blue smoke update screen from that era. They were also longer updates than the couple sentences the updated ones gave.

They probably figure if you want more info, youíll just pull out your smartphone and look it up between segments, so they just give a brief update on the episode. I know thatís what I do lol
