I also feel the same way about "How Do I Live". The original by Trisha Yearwood is much better than LeAnn Rimes' version. Trisha gave it feeling but LeAnn just sings it for the pop masses.

Totally agree with the bolded.

Some others that I enjoy are:

It's Too Late by The Stylistics (original by Carole King)

Summer Breeze by The Isley Brothers (original by Seals and Croft)

Sitting in the Park by GQ (original by Billy Stewart)

Let's Stay Together by Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose (original by Al Green)

Love both versions for all of these tunes.

Here are some covers that are better than the original...

All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan did the original.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLV4_xaYynY

Maybe by Janis Joplin, originally by The Chantels.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGVFh1czyj4

Black Magic Woman by Santana, originally by Fleetwood Mac.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyQUCYl-ocs

No More "I Love Yous" by Annie Lennox, originally by The Lover Speaks. Annie Lennox's album Medusa is an album full of covers.

And Party Fears Two by The Divine Comedy, originally by The Associates.
