I'm surprised this thread isn't booming with excitement.

Donít get me wrong, Iím happy the whole series is coming and I will buy it, but the extras are disappointing. I donít hold that against SF, I thank them for giving us the complete series and, letís be honest, as the show seems to be sadly becoming more forgotten with time, it probably wasnít worth it to them to invest in newly produced extras.

Still, one can dream, and in my ideal world the set would have come with features like:

-The Writers: Jay Sommers & Dick Chevillat Profile
-Eddie Albert Profile
-Eva Gabor Profile
-The People of Hooterville: A Look at the Supporting Cast
-Arnold Ziffel: The Pig, The Myth, The Legend
-ďReturn to Green AcresĒ (1990)
-"Green Acres: We Are There" Nick at Nite TV Special (1989)
-Farmhandís Diary: New Interview with Tom Lester, aka Eb Dawson
-Commentary with Tom Lester on Select Episodes

Something like that wouldíve been beautiful. Sigh. Alas, Green Acres isnít Star Trek, Batman, or even Lost in Space. Guess we have to be happy with what we get.

By the way, Return to Green Acres is easy to find on Amazon if you don't want the poor quality youtube version. I bought a copy for $5 and reviewed the movie here. I recommend the DVD over youtube because the picture quality on the DVD is good.

I agree the DVD set looks to be short on extras, but for me I'm mostly interested in just the episodes only. As long as all 170 episodes are complete and uncut, I'll be happy with that.

It would have been awesome to have bonus features like that. I was really hoping they would at least have the full 1989 TV special with the cast. That special may be the closest we'll ever get to having interviews with the cast about the show. Ah well, it's still out there somewhere, so the search goes on.

I agree though, it could have been better but the point is we're getting the series in full, so we should be happy for that.

It's now $95 on Amazon. I'm glad the price dropped.

I've already got seasons 1 through 3 on DVD but it looks like that with this complete series release seasons 1 and 2 will be on single sided discs so I'll likely
order this set. I can't stand those double sided discs that MGM had for the first two seasons. Also this is one of the rare shows that IMHO got better as it went along with seasons 4 and 5 my favorites.

The price has dropped almost 40 dollars on Shout Factory's website. It is listed as 109.99 but when you click on the preorder button, the price goes to 76.99 due to some sort of promo. I was going to order it later but this price drop may not last long so I am going to purchase it now. Delivery 4 weeks early is also a bonus.

I just cancelled my Amazon order and went with Shout. It was 76.99 and you get it 4 weeks earlier.

I think the 30% off school sale ends today.

The sale makes the set cheaper on Shout's website than it is on Amazon. Jump on it while the sale lasts. The bonus of Shout Factory is that they ship it to those who pre - order it 4 weeks earlier while everyone else will ship on the street date.
