TV "9-1-1: Lone Star" Set for Jan. 19th Starring Rob Lowe and Liv Tyler

"9-1-1" Spin-off Starring Rob Lowe Ordered by Fox; "9-1-1: Lone Star" will Premiere Next Season
by Nellie Andreeva
May 12, 2019

Fox is doubling down on its top series, "9-1-1", with a spin-off, "9-1-1: Lone Star", which will be headlined by Rob Lowe. As the title suggests, the new show is set in Austin, Texas.

It hails from "9-1-1" creators/executive producers Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear who serve in the same capacity on the offshoot. Lowe is co-executive producer.

"9-1-1: Lone Star", which will premiere next season, follows a sophisticated New York cop (Lowe) who, along with his son, re-locates to Austin, and must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in his own life.

The beauty of having a hit drama like 9-1-1 from the genius minds of Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear is it allows you to explore thrilling stories as told through an array of distinctive characters,” said Fox Entertainment President Michael Thorn.

In 9-1-1: Lone Star, they’ve given us a special opportunity to expand the franchise into new territory – literally and figuratively — and we’re thrilled to have the incomparable Rob Lowe headline this new iteration when it joins our schedule next season.

Said Lowe, “Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear’s ability to make smart, unique, great television is unmatched. I’m elated to join this team.

Liv Tyler Set as Female Lead in Fox’s "9-1-1: Lone Star"
by Nellie Andreeva, Denise Petski
September 11, 2019

Liv Tyler is set to star opposite Rob Lowe in Fox’s spin-off series "9-1-1: Lone Star". This marks the first broadcast role for the former "Leftovers" star.

Tyler will play Chief Paramedic Michelle Blake, who’s a little rock ‘n’ roll, sometimes a bad girl but always boss. Equal parts compassionate and ruthless, Michelle is brilliant and wry, and the only one who can match wits with Owen in the station, where she often will put him in his place. While always on point at work, Michelle has a obsession she struggles to control: finding out what happened to her little sister Iris, who disappeared two years ago.

She’ll stop at nothing to discover the truth, even if it means burning her own life down.

"9-1-1: Lone Star" will premiere on January 19, following the NFC Championship Game, and will air in the mothership series’ Monday 9 PM slot during its midseason hiatus.
