hey everyone! well, stupid little o' jefferson made the national news again...two stupid 14 year old boys set fire to an old vacant factory downtown, by lighting paint spray cans on fire in the building and then getting caught on camera while leaving the building...5 fire stations were there (300 firefighters over all) and 3 news choppers were at the scene...within 3hours, 58,500sqft of building was completely gone...the smoke was so thick and they had to cut the power to 6 blocks around them because of the gas station that is located right in front to the burning building...flames shot up about 30-40ft above the roof line...i watch the whole thing from my backyard (1/2 mile away, but our house is on the highest point in town)...my grandfather worked at the factory for 40 years until he retired in 1991...

Wow, that's sad... I don't even know if I heard anything about that. Crazy.

Kind of related, a tag fell off of one of the mattresses at our house and I guess someone dropped it while taking it to the trash, and when I picked it up to throw it away I noticed that it said it was made in Jefferson, WI.

that's so bizarre...yeah Schweiger's made mattresses for a while to keep up with completition, but your's was more than likely a Vero mattress, also located in Jefferson...
