No, they're referring to this case:

http://unsolvedmysteries.wikia.com/w...d_Brian_Ognjan

Two hunters who vanished and were profiled in the quick "10 missing persons" segment. I believe that this quick alert for the 10 people only aired once.

I think this topic of "lost" or altered segments has been discussed ad nausem and there are other threads that list the segments and possible reasons why they are so rare.

Regarding Mcafee: I believe it only aired once in September 1989 and never again on NBC or Lifetime. It wasn't Farina-ized or uploaded to Amazon Prime ether. Go figure. A few years ago, someone uploaded it to YouTube. It was obviously a VHS rip of the broadcast. I contactecd the poster and offered him pretty much everything except my soul and first born in exchange for a physical copy but he ever wrote back.

Darn, that's a shame. Too bad someone didn't rip it from youtube while it was hosted.

Indeed. I saw it on the secret YouTube account just before Cosgrove & Mauer finally discovered it and had it removed.

This was a local case for me. The two men were from St. Clair Shores, about 20 miles from where I grew up. I was in kindergarten when they disappeared.

I can't imagine being a loved one of those two men. To go 18 years knowing nothing and then to find out how they were killed and the fact that the killers bragged about feeding their remains to their pigs. It's something straight out of a horror movie.

This is the one I was thinking of. Not sure why I thought it was the Tennessee ATV murders, though.

If I recall, there was information that one of the perps stomped on one of the victim's head until it exploded "like a pumpkin." Not sure where I read that, but it bothered the hell out of me....

Something along those lines.

Quote:
The men were seen extremely intoxicated in a bar by a bunch of locals. Barbra B. just happened to be in the bar. She was a town drunk and had had more than a few drinks that night. However, eighteen years later, when talking to police, she assured them that she held her alcohol well and knew everything that happened that night. Also, in the bar were the Duvall brothers - Raymond and Donald - also known as Coco and Jr. Barbra over heard them talking about beating the stumbling hunters to death and feeding them to their pigs because, "pigs have to eat too." That night, Barbra and a friend she was with at the bar left and stumbled home to her friend's house. Once they got there, they heard noises outside so they peaked to see what was going on. They were pleads for help... coming from David Tyll and Brian Ognjan. Coco and Jr. had baseball bats in their hands. According to Barbara, Coco swung the bat, first at David Tyll, and "his head just disappeared." Brian got away but it didn't take long for them to catch him. They stood him up and said, "Look, he peed his pants." Then, they swung at him resulting in the loss of his life as well.
It’s the stuff of horror stories. A police officer would later rightly call it “three levels below Deliverance,” that nightmarish movie about backwoods inbreeds who stalk and assault a group of guys on a river trip. I’ve been around people like this in another state. They think they’re a law unto themselves. They might make people disappear and think nothing of it.

Everyone knew about the Duvall brothers, Raymond “J.R.” and Donald “Coco.” They raised pigs “parted out” stolen cars, and stole electricity. People feared them, including wives and ex-girlfriends. Coco and J.R. drank heavily and got into frequent brawls. They threatened people and hated strangers coming into their territory.

Subject of one of the better true crime books I've read: Darker Than the Night.

It's in Season 3, Episode 12, timestamp 26:55.
Curiosity is piqued. Does anyone remember what RS said?

It wasn't anything nearly as controversial as some here have made it out to be.

PARAPHRASING: He made a simple comment about how the racial situation in the segment (black male raping a white woman) wasn't actually the norm and that rape tends to happen within racial groups and the point of the segment wasn't to spread racial fears but to obtain justice for the victim.

For some reason, the idea of NOT spreading racial fear offends some members of this board. A few posters had a problem with RS making that disclaimer. I have no idea why but they do.

Oh God. Let's not re-live those days on the board. That guy hijacked every thread.
