You may also be thinking of Stephen Morfeo. He was the main suspect in the disappearance of his wife who was never found. Later he shot and killed a former girlfriend and her current boyfriend and then later killed himself. They searched that same area for his wife’s body but never found it. They now consider the case closed and Stephen is the likely suspect.

My issue with Rob page is this: do we know the police actually said he is “no longer a suspect” or are we taking UM’s word for it? As I said before, articles reference the cops looking for other leads but nowhere besides the UM update does it say Rob was cleared. I think this may be a case where a UM researcher misheard what was said. If not, the police must be aware of some pretty important evidence they have never shared.

I agree. Do we know they didnít say this? I would just like to know the police cleared him from a source other than UM.

They didn't say it in that article from 2010 a few weeks after Rob had died. They just said that foul play is suspected. Which is bizarre considering the update on the Farina episodes (2008-2009 I believe was the airdate) saying that the police no longer consider Rob a suspect but they have "no idea" what happened to Pam. A producer for UM had to have reached out to the PD to get some sort of update on the case and that is what they were told. I do think it's possible that the cops "downgraded" him from suspect to person of interest because everywhere they looked (IIRC, they had ground penetrating sonar and searched Page's house) they couldn't come up with any physical evidence against Rob.

If the police department did in fact change his status from suspect to person of interest, I'd say that was a huge mistake. The biggest reason? The letter that Pam wrote to Rob says that Pam took the money from the safe at their store to run off and start a new life. According to Rob's 2nd version of events (the one where he admitted to moving their corvette, typing the last 4 sentences of the letter, and forging Pam's signature), Rob found the letter one week prior to Pam's disappearance. Meaning that Pam, if the letter was actually written by her, had had this planned in advance. Rob claims that the money from the safe was in fact missing. The only problem? Pam was last seen alive on the evening prior to her disappearance by another employee at the rental store. This employee says that both Pam AND Rob were present and that Pam was talking flirtatiously about Rob that night. According to Rob, when they got home that night and the next morning Pam was acting strange and said she didn't feel good so Rob went ahead and opened the video store. So if Pam was with Rob the evening prior and never went to the store at any point the next day of her disappearance, how the hell did she manage to steal the $60,000 from the safe?! That to me is the biggest indicator that the letter is complete BS and that Rob was the one who typed it up in an effort to say that Pam took off.

Those are all really good points, Cars. I agree with you that he may have been downgraded but again, why not say that? It's odd.

I also agree that Rob's version of what he said Pam did doesn't jive. Let's say it was real and that she ran off on him -- forging her name on the letter makes him look incredibly guilty even if no crime was committed. I think he thought he could sell this story and everyone would take it at face value but he really underestimated Pam's family.

Maybe the police decided there is no actual crime and only a possible one. If she did decide to leave on her own and not tell anyone, then I think it is considered an adult doing adult things until there is evidence of a crime (I'm not sure if this is 100% correct). It actually sounds a lot like the Dottie Caylor case. Both spouses claim their wives left, possibly to start a new life, but there is no actual evidence of them really doing it. And with no evidence of a crime in either case, they're kind of stuck.

There has to be more substantial information that would lead police to believe Rob had nothing to do with her disappearance.
The FBI had somebody identified as the Crazy Glue Bandit, but before he could be arrested he died in a vehicle accident. There was an update saying the case is considered close due to that.

Rob was still alive at the time of the airing of the Farina episode, and the update explicitly said that police no longer consider him a suspect.
