Me neither, I just watched the case today for the first time and I can't think why it was never re-aired. Not a huge deal of the case online either, but might be because of how rare this segment was. Quite a shame.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you view it?

It's on the forbidden site, I looked it up after some posters here let us know of it's current availability. I typed in 'Unsolved mysteries Todd McAfee'.

Maybe the witness that did not want to be identified was too worried about her face being shown in the segment and rather than reedit it they just pulled it?

I haven't seen the Laura Lee Burbank segment since it aired on NBC.

My understanding was that the interviewees had to sign waivers allowing the use of their image for the segments. I can't see them pulling it because of that. I can see them pulling it if law enforcement asked them to, but I don't know why law enforcement wouldn't have wanted it re-aired.

Surprised. That one was rerun on Lifetime many times over the years.

The footage of her was from her hypnosis though, so I wonder if they got the footage from the person who performed it and she either didn't know or expected them to blur it since she said she did not want to be identified.

LE probably provided that footage, so if she complained to them about it they may have requested UM pull it.

That footage is a quick shot. They could have edited it out of the broadcast easily.

That's annoying because I remember distinctly that Lifetime aired the Tarisita Basa segment pretty much every day.

Speaking of which, isn't the man that killed her a free man these days?

Sigh. According to the UM wiki page, he's been a free man for 36 years now...

Despite his confession, Allan Showery pleaded not guilty to Teresita's murder. When a mistrial occurred, he decided to plead guilty on February 23, 1979, receiving only a fourteen-year sentence for his cold blooded crime. He was released on parole in 1983.

Ever since the segments have been moved to Amazon Prime and given text updates, my eyes have been opened to the disturbingly high number of horrible people who spent little time in prison and are free today. It's pretty sickening.

Could the family have asked for the segment to be pulled?? That would be equally puzzling, but a bit more plausible (as LE would still have interest in seeing the case solved).

This also brings to mind the 'Orange Socks' case out in CO (another one that was pulled, even though the case wasn't solved).......
