Damm that sucks, atleast that way you can have completed the series and had a edited version until a DVD release came out

Why would you say that? You have no way of knowing that for sure.

I'm hoping that ODAAT gets a complete series release from Shout!

What is the deal of One Day at a time not being released as a complete series? I think sales would be pretty good and if they don't and Antenna takes it off the schedule, i'll have to settle for a homemade set until Shout officially releases it

I think it has to deal with the fact that Season 1 sales were pretty poor and the dvd companies are unwilling to release anymore seasons. Not to mention the fact that Sony doesn't make DVDs anymore so....

I remember when the S1 set was released in 2007. I looked at it in several stores and at the time the cheapest price here was $38.99. Many people would have found that pretty steep, especially since there is only 15 episodes on it. When Sony released Charlie's Angels, the retail price was only $4 more than that for 24 hour-long episodes, so ODAAT was WAY overpriced. I still bought it then because I wanted it really bad, but I can see the casual fans passing on it, especially since it was not even the best season. I think that hurt chances of future releases, as well as the music costs associated with S2. I have a home made set so am grateful for that, but still wish I had an official one to complete my Norman Lear library.

^I have a "homemade set", too. The picture and sound are very good. I got it from ioffer. I think all the episodes were recorded from a Canadian station.

If an official set was released, I'd preorder it day-one.

I'm thinking of eventually getting a "homemade set", but I would buy an official set day one.

Can you tell if they're uncut or cut episodes?

The credit crunch on Antenna is just unacceptable so at some point I will have to get a homemade set too. I'd like one from a Canadian station as well. I just wish Shout would release a complete series.

With the news of a Hispanic/Latino reboot of One Day at a Time coming to Netflix in the future, is the original One Day at a Time available on any digital-streaming/Video-on-demand platforms (which Netflix is)? If so, I think the original ODaaT should be made available on Netflix if seasons 2-9 aren't going to get released on DVD.
