Default Ted Turner celebrates 40 years of CNN

CNN, short for Cable News Network, launched on June 1, 1980. "Happy 40th Anniversary, CNN. Forty years later and you're still my greatest achievement," tweeted CNN founder Turner. "Keep up the great work!"

When CNN was launched in 1980 it was a channel that would be different from any other because people wanted to watch news anywhere else besides the local news and when Ted Turner debuted CNN his dream came true for people to see news all the time beyond their local news. And soon with CNN's success there would soon be a spin-off channel called CNN Headline News and with exciting attention grabbing news stories CNN was number one in cable news channels. Who knew that due to CNN's success cable news channels such as America's Talking "Now MSNBC" Fox News Channel and other cable news channels would soon be the start of a new way of watching the news. CNN still proves that they would always be number one in news even with competing news channels
