It's interesting the Censored 11 list doesn't mention Frigid Hare, Which is Witch?, or Bushy Hare (of course, these were not part of the pre-1948 UA package). I can almost guarantee CN didn't play any of these during their Bugs "June Bugs" marathon in 2001 (they possibly DID play Frigid Hare, with an edit removing Bugs' reference to returning to work in 1953). However, IIRC they DID play some they routinely shunned later, like Bugsy and Mugsy, and definitely The Unmentionables (both shunned later because of smoking (egad!).

I would like to see MeTV at least play Frigid Hare complete, since that date edit "bugs" me. The only place that toon is available, completely unedited, is on the Looney Tunes Golden Collection.

Another surprise in reviewing the Censored 11: the ONLY Bugs Bunny on that list is All This And Rabbit Stew.

I do remember watching the Looney Tunes short Frigid Hare either on Nickelodeon with no censoring of the year 1953. I swear I remember seeing it.

That's entirely possible--thanks for that reminder! I have many of those from Nick on VHS and I'll have to check.

I'll add that many of these offensive cartoons are otherwise funny in their own right, and unfortunately there is no way to edit many of them to get rid of the offensive stuff--with Frigid Hare, Which is Witch?, Bushy Hare, Horse Hare, A Feather in his Hare, Hiawatha's Rabbit Hunt, Tom Tom Tomcat (and I'm sure more), it's stereotypes.

Tue Feb. 2 - Toon In With Me

PORKY'S POOR FISH (1940), WEASEL STOP (1956), CLIPPETY CLOBBERED, AQUA DUCK (1963), FILET-MEOW

Warners:

Porky's... an undoubtedly-restored b/w Porky

Weasel Stop - another funny Foggy, with the foe for the dog a weasel--and of course Foggy uses the weasel against the dog. A Blue Ribbon cartoon which was originally a Looney Tune, this has been in TV syndication in its original version (I found it on an old Beta tape from Channel 4 here in Indy).

Clippety Clobbered - whoa, let me check, I fear this is another Rudy Larriva (ugh!) Road Runner from the late 60s...double ugh!, I'm right, 1966 RR.

Aqua Duck - whoa! again, a 4th Warners--that's a first on this show. This Daffy toon wasn't shown on CN--let's see why... [Update: now we know why. It's a lousy toon, with no plot (plot, such as it is: Daffy is inexplicably in a desert, wanting water. A pack rat foils him.)]

Wed Feb. 3 - Toon In With Me

MILLION HARE, THE (1963), PECOS PEST, PARLEZ VOUS WOO, MOUSE WARMING (1952), FOGHORN LEGHORN, THE (1948)

Warners:

The Million Hare - McKimson's sort-of re-do of his 1959 toon, People Are Bunny

Mouse Warming - another in Chuck Jones's mini-series of toons with Claude Cat.

The Foghorn Leghorn - third in the Foggy series, this cartoon was at one time a Blue Ribbon reissue with cut-out credits. CN ran the restored toon, which I'm guessing was located for the first Golden Collection DVD set. (The first Foggy, Walky Talky Hawky, from 1946 is on Golden Collection 3 and Platinum Collection 3 as a Blue Ribbon, and the second one, Crowing Pains, was a fully restored Looney Tune on Golden Collection 6)

Thu Feb. 4 - Toon In With Me

COMPRESSED HARE (1961), ASSAULT AND FLATTERY, DAFFY'S INN TROUBLE (1961), SLICK CHICK, THE (1962), GRIN AND SHARE IT

Warners:

Compressed Hare - one of a mini-series of Chuck Jones Bugs toons where his foe is a speaking Wile E. Coyote. The first was in 1952, Operation: Rabbit, then skipping 8 years, Rabbit's Feat (1960), then this toon.

Daffy's Inn Trouble - a Porky and Daffy Looney Tune. Daffy's again in the desert, working for Porky's inn. Fed up with sweeping, he decides to become Porky's competition.

The Slick Chick - late in the game for Foghorn Leghorn, this is the third to the last one produced in the 60s.

Fri Feb. 5 - Toon In With Me

NAUGHTY NEIGHBORS (1939), GREAT PIGGY BANK ROBBERY, CATTY CORNERED ((1953) LOONEY TUNES), PRIVATE EYE POPEYE, READY WOOLEN AND ABLE (1960)

Warners:

Naughty Neighbors - a Porky Looney Tune from the b/w era. (the first color Looney Tune was The Hep Cat in 1942).

Catty Cornered - a slightly different plot for a Tweety and Sylvester cartoon--this time Rocky, the resident WB gang leader is involved. I imagine this one wasn't seen on CN, since Rocky always has a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.

Ready Woolen and Able - one in another Chuck Jones mini-series, featuring Sam Sheepdog and Ralph Wolf (Ralph looks a lot like Wile E., but he has a red nose). The first in this series is 1953's Don't Give Up The Sheep, followed by Sheep Ahoy, Double or Mutton, Steal Wool, this toon, and Woolen Under Where (that one with different co-directors.)

Sat Feb. 6 - Bugs Bunny and Friends

BROOM-STICK BUNNY (1956), SOUP OR SONIC, RABBIT HOOD (1949), BABY BOTTLENECK, CARROTBLANCA, THE OLD GREY HARE

Broom-Stick Bunny - another in a short series of Chuck Jones toons, where Bugs's adversary is Witch Hazel. The first was Bewitched Bunny in 1954.

Soup or Sonic - this is a 1980 Road Runner toon, part of a TV special, Bugs Bunny's Bustin' Out All Over. Most toons run 6-7 minutes; this one is over 9.

Rabbit Hood - a Bugs toon, with live-action Error Flynn at the end

Baby Bottleneck (1946) - a Porky and Daffy Looney Tune, this was another Blue Ribbon reissue which cut the production credits and the LT opening titles. An original copy was found for Golden Collection 2--we'll see if MeTV uses that.

Carrotblanca (1995) - a kind-of modern Looney Tune, around 8 minutes long, has principal "stars" Bugs, Daffy, and Pepe Le Pew, and some minor background characters. Haven't seen this one in awhile.

The Old Grey Hare (1944) - a Bugs Merrie Melody from Bob Clampett. Elmer chases Bugs wayyy into the future (but not quite to our day!)

Mon Feb. 8 - Toon In With Me

INVASION OF THE BUNNY SNATCHERS, STRANGLED EGGS, TOM-IC ENERGY, PIZZA TWEETY PIE, A (1958), HELLO, HOW AM I?

Warners:

Invasion... (1992) - another kind-of modern toon, this has Bugs and several other toon stars

Strangled Eggs (1961) - another funny Foggy from Bob McKimson. Foghorn Leghorn is one of his best characters, patterned after a windbag southern senator, Senator Claghorn, from a 1940s radio show.

A Pizza Tweety Pie - Sylvester pursues Tweety in Venice

With them showing some Looney Tunes outside of the golden era, I wonder if we will see The Night Of The Living Duck soon?

I have that one recorded from someplace, probably from Cartoon Network. If so MeTV probably has it.

Update on Night of the Living Duck: it didn't come from CN. There is no logo/bug so I have no idea where it came from. The quality is good but it looks like it originally came from VHS.

OK, I got curious and went to the basement to look at paper records of VHS tapes. This toon appears to have been recorded off Nickelodeon. I had to check how long they ran on Nick, and it was quite awhile, 1988-1999.

Tue Feb. 9 - Toon In WIth Me

SNOWMAN'S LAND, I -SKI LOVE-SKI YOU-SKI, WEASEL WHILE YOU WORK (1958), BONANZA BUNNY (1959), ALPINE ANTICS (1936)

Warners:

Snow Man's Land (1939) - An early Chuck Jones Merrie Melody. Never saw this one, it'll be interesting!

Weasel While You Work - a Foggy toon, during the musicians' strike of 1958--thus, canned music

Bonanza Bunny - a McKimson Bugs with recycled gags from earlier cartoons [update: this could have been the first toon with Black Jacques Shellac, a villain foe for Bugs who was also in the later toon Wet Hare]

Alpine Antics - a very early Looney Tune in black and white--another one a lot of us probably never saw...

Wed Feb. 10 -- Toon In With Me

CATS A-WEIGH (1953), CAT FEUD (1958), MOTHER WAS A ROOSTER (1962), BEDEVILLED RABBIT (1957), MY POP, MY POP

Warners:

Cat's A-Weigh - first one of this series on MeTV, with Sylvester, Junior, and the baby kangaroo. The gag in these toons is that usually Sylvester thinks that kangaroo is a giant mouse.

Cat Feud - part of another mini-series from Chuck Jones, this features a large dog that saves a kitten from varying mishaps

Mother Was A Rooster - a later Foggy from McKimson, involving an ostrich egg

Bedevilled Rabbit - Bugs vs. the Tasmanian devil

Thu Feb. 11 - Toon In WIth Me

FLOOR FLUSHER, EARLY TO BET (1951), SOUTHBOUND DUCKLING, BEEP PREPARED (1961), BUGS AND THUGS (1954)

Warners:

Early to Bet - interesting script in a McKimson cartoon. A cat gets varying penalties exacted by a bulldog with the gambling bug

Beep Prepared - a later Road Runner

Bugs and Thugs - Bugs vs. Rocky the thug
