Bugs Bunny And Friends - Sat. 9/11/21

Buccaneer Bunny (Bugs, Yosemite Sam - 1948 - Freleng)

Mouse Mazurka (Sylvester - 1949 - Freleng) - MeTV debut

Porky The Giant Killer (1939 - Ben Hardaway & Cal Dalton) - MeTV debut

What's Cookin' Doc? (Bugs - 1944 - Clampett)

Sniffles Takes A Trip (1940 - Jones)

To Hare Is Human (Bugs, Wile E. Coyote - 1956 - Jones) - after a 4 year pause, Jones brings this combo back. Rather than erecting a door at Bugs' hole, this time Wile E. puts up an elevator and later uses a computer. But Bugs finds a well-placed banana peel still does the trick.

This is an interesting list of what they call the 90 best Looney Tunes. They aren't numbered initially but toward the bottom you get to the top 10, so I guess you start from 90, and go to number 1. Several videos are missing, probably due to copyright claims to Youtube:

The undercurrent in this cartoon was Warners' lack of Oscars, to this point. The Academy did give a lot of awards to Disney and seemed to take a real fancy to Tom and Jerry:

Basically, a lot of classic cartoons from Warner's and Tex Avery's MGM output didn't get the recognition they deserved from the Academy.

The Draft Horse is also unique for the Private Snafu cameo.

All 17 of the Roland & Rattfink toons have been aired.
30 of 34 Inspector toons have been aired.
Not even close with the PP toons. Reruns are taking over now.
At this point, I don't think the Saturday show for WB has repeated any of
its toons so far. Hope they do at some point, I missed One Froggy Evening when it came through.

I just searched this thread and One Froggy Evening has played 3 times on Toon In With Me (once on a rerun show, but the originals were 1/15 and 2/24) and on the primetime kickoff New Years Day. So it needs a Saturday showing!

The Saturday Bugs and Friends show is great. I think in a few weeks they're picking up a 1960 Pepe that hasn't been on MeTV yet.

Yeah, the Who Scent You is one I only have on Boomer. 9 toons over the next two Saturdays are "new" or I have only on Boomer. Several have been shown already on m-f. Now I don't feel quite as bad, I thought I had missed Froggy on a Saturday showing. I know I missed the Past Perfumance & Rabbit Fire Saturday. I hope they keep the Saturday toons going whenever a schedule change comes along.
