Toon In With Me - Tue. 8/31/21 - New Episode No. 163 "Toony the Crooner"

Zipping Along (Road Runner - 1953 - Jones)

Solid Serenade (Tom & Jerry - 1946 - Hanna-Barbera)

Let It Be Me (WB Misc. - 1936 - Freleng) - reissue cartoon--the original titles/credits appear to be totally lost--only the director is known. Interestingly they retained the original closing card. Another cartoon Bing Crosby sued over due to characterization of him as unfaithful and the vocals--he evidently lost. This one is a MeTV debut; the other lawsuit subject, Bingo Crosbyana, was scheduled on MeTV earlier this year but was yanked.

No! No! A Thousand Times No (Betty Boop - 1935 - Dave Fleischer)

Hurdy Gurdy Hare (Bugs - 1950 - McKimson) - a pretty good mid-century cartoon from McKimson, infrequently shown. Another one not in the network packages back in the day, it has been on MeTV one other time.

Toon In With Me - Wed. 9/1/21 - New Episode No. 164 "Bill Tries French Toast"

Napoleon Bunny-Part (Bugs - 1956 - Freleng)

Young and Healthy (WB Harman and Ising Misc. - 1933 - no director/supervision credit) - black snd white, may be the earliest WB cartoon MeTV has shown--first time on MeTV. Some incredible animation in this one--with a lot of many-character motion frame to frame, in pristine remastered condition.

Shot and Bothered (Road Runner - 1966 - Larriva)

Le Quiet Squad (The Inspector - 1967 - McKimson)

Boston Quackie (Porky & Daffy - 1957 - McKimson)

Since this post in May I think I've heard him say "toonsters" several times. But today he's noticeably back to "tooners."

Unfortunately I don't keep the full recordings (except one where I kept the whole show). When I said noticeably about today I heard him say tooners many times.

I'll keep listening for this.

Okay, checking the crystal ball I see Really Scent coming up in a few weeks. Two dates listed. "Initial" release stated as 1958. Release date stated as June of 1959. I can't really find anything about the 1958 date. Anything to clear this up, stevea?

My guess w/o looking at it, is that it is (C) 1958, but the release date to theaters was 6/27/1959.

It's one of the better Pepe LePews because it doesn't follow the standard formula. Narrated by June Foray, we initially hear Fabrette cannot find a boyfriend. This statement by Foray may be why CN didn't show it; if that's not it I don't why. In any event it's another short that isn't widely known since it was not in the network Saturday morning packages--only in local TV syndication. Second time around on MeTV.

Seely mee--I checked out the opening on Youtube--I forgot, we see papa Pierre smoking--can't have that on CN!

One of the few Pepes not directed by Chuck Jones--this one was done by Abe Levitow.

Toon In With Me - Mon. 9/6/21 - New Episode No. 167 "Taking What They're Giving"

Paying The Piper (Porky - 1949 - McKimson) - may be first time on MeTV

Prefabricated Pink (Pink Panther - 1967 - Hawley Pratt)

Steal Wool (Ralph Wolf, Sam Sheepdog - 1957 - Jones) - MeTV debut. The CN copy of this short had the film moving side-to-side, very noticeably.

I Wanna Be A Lifeguard (Popeye - 1936 - Dave Fleischer)

A Pest In The House (Daffy, Elmer - 1947 - Jones) - Outstanding. Arthur Q. Bryan voices Elmer as usual, but uses his real voice for the put-upon guest. Probably first time on MeTV.

The Hound and the Rabbit (MGM Happy Harmonies - 1937 - Harman and Ising)
Knight-Mare Hare (Bugs - 1955 - Jones)
You Gotta Be A Football Hero (Popeye - 1935 - Fleischer)

Toon In With Me - Wed. 9/8/21 - New Episode No. 169 "Jock & The Box"

Bugs Bunny & The Three Bears (1944 - Jones)

The Zoot Cat (Tom & Jerry - 1944 - Hanna & Barbera)

The Wise Quacking Duck (Daffy - 1943 - Clampett)

Tweetie Pie (Tweety - 1947 - Freleng) - this Oscar-winning cartoon is the first pairing of as-yet-unnamed Sylvester (called "Thomas" here). Small correction of Toon In With Me, since this isn't the first Tweety cartoon (that was "A Tale of Two Kitties" - 1942 - Clampett)

Toy Town Hall (1936 - Freleng) - first time on MeTV
