Goodbye to Love" is a song composed by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis. It was released by The Carpenters in 1972. On the Close to You: Remembering The Carpenters documentary,

Yes thank you. It looks as if Karen would have been 22 years old there. I suppose they did so many tours for that seven-year period they both became mentally and physically exhausted.

I'm a Carpenters fan and have lost count of how many times I've viewed the PBS documentary.

One of my first teachers was a fan, and she had our class learn "Sing." I remember very clearly, many years later, when Karen passed away. I was in high school when I heard the sad news.

There's an AM station in my listening area called "Frank 1340 AM" that includes Carpenters songs on their playlist -- it's great.

Not a traditional Christmas song, but one of the few times when the remake is better than the original. https://youtu.be/fsgj4xcxXyA

OMG she had the voice of an angel. And a fantastic drummer too! After Barbra Streisand, she’s my favorite female singer. And my favorite drummer: go listen to one of her sets...I would have loved to see her do a drum duet with Buddy Rich!

Was this the best song as she moves out in full glare onstage, resigned to fame yet unaware of the dangers as she headed towards the abyss, the finger gesture symbolic of the perfection they both strove for and often attained, yet whose quest would drain both as she heads back towards Richard and a temporary safety.

One analysis of Karen's voice. May she rest in peace along with Tony Peluso featured here. https://youtu.be/rfdh9x743Vw
