Default Disney Remove Controversial Toy Story 2 Blooper In Rerelease

Quote:
Pixar appears to have removed a 'blooper reel' scene from Toy Story 2 that depicts a rather uncomfortable 'casting couch' scenario.

The animation studio's movies have a longstanding tradition of creating credits scenes of its characters involved in bloopers, much like real actors.

One of these at the end of the 1999 Toy Story sequel depicts the Prospector (aka Stinky Pete) caught offering two Barbie dolls a part in Toy Story 3, while stroking one of their hands. He then realises he's on camera and awkwardly gets them to leave.

The scene has emerged recently on sites such as Reddit, and according to Rereleasenews.com, has now been removed from new Blu-ray and digital download releases of the movie.

Digital Spy has reached out to Disney for comment.

The apparent cutting of the scene comes in the wake of the #MeToo movement and the light it has shone on sexual misconduct from many of Hollywood's most powerful men.

When it has come down to it Disney has always been known for controversial scenes in it's movies and animated series and it has never stopped Disney from producing quality animation and successful movies and cartoons. Take for instance if you ever go to Disneyland or Walt Disney World on your vacations you'll notice that the character that the Disney Parks have of Princess Jasmine went through an entire wardrobe change and is now seen in her original outfit with a silk covering to hide her belly because parents thought that it was not acceptible for children to see while getting Jasmine's autograph but while in the animated version of Aladdin Princess Jasmine's outfit was left alone but if you look at the Aladdin cartoon series Princess Jasmine's outfit was changed to a different outfit throughout the cartoon series. A second movie to do this for Disney was The Princess And The Frog when it caused controversy because of the style of Princess Tiana's lips and it caused such a controversy that Mattel recalled several sets of The Princess And The Frog plush toys because of the Princess Tiana frog's lips and it caused parents such an uproar that Tiana was not a successful role model for young girls. I have viewed the blooper on Toy Story 2 so many times and I can't really see what's actually wrong with it. Next thing you'll know Disney will probably remove A Bug's Life because of the scary scenes with Hopper and the bug circus scene where the circus bugs tease and make fun of the character Francis the ladybug because it teaches bullying to young children
