Cool System Of a Down

Many of the songs on the album were clearly a denunciation of Bush's military
policies and the general tone of discontent and disillusionment in the country over a war that was going nowhere, with no visible end just two years and counting from the date that "Mission Accomplished" was declared.

Sad Statue

Conquest to the lover
And your love to the fire
Permanence unfolding in the absolute

Forgiveness is the
All-Damned sacrifice
Eloquence belongs
To the conqueror

The pictures of time and space are rearranged
In this little piece of typical tragedy

Justified candy
Brandy for the nerves
Eloquence belongs
To the conqueror

You and me
we'll all go down in history
With a sad Statue of Liberty
And a generation that didn't agree

You and me
We'll all go down in history
With a sad Statue of Liberty
And a generation that didn't agree

I forgot to
I forgot to let you know that

Justified candy
Brandy for the nerves
Eloquence belongs
To the conqueror

Conquest to the lover
And your love to the fire
Permanence unfolding in the absolute

Forgiveness is the
All-Damned sacrifice
Eloquence belongs
To the conqueror

You and me
We'll all go down in history
With a sad Statue of Liberty
And a generation that didn't agree

You and me
We'll all go down in history
With a sad Statue of Liberty
And a generation that didn't agree

Generation......

What is in us that turns a deaf ear to the cries of human suffering!!!?, Suffering Now!

Suffering, suffering now

Woah!

Suffering now

You and me
We'll all go down in history
With a sad Statue of Liberty
And a generation that didn't agree

You and me
We'll all go down in history
With a sad Statue of Liberty
And a generation that didn't agree

Soldier Slide

Dead men lying on the bottom of the grave
Wondering when savior comes, is he gonna be saved
Maybe you're a sinner into your alternate life
Maybe you're a joker, maybe you deserve to die

They were crying when their sons left
God is wearing black
He's gone so far to find no hope
He's never coming back

They were crying when their sons left
All young men must go
He's come so far to find the truth
He's never going home

Young men standing on the top of their own graves
Wondering when Jesus comes, are they gonna be saved
Cruelty to the winner, bishop tells the king his lies
Maybe you're a mourner, maybe you deserve to die

They were crying when their sons left
God is wearing black
He's gone so far to find no hope
He's never coming back

They were crying when their sons left
All young men must go
He's come so far to find no truth
He's never going home

Welcome to the soldier side
Where there is no one here but me
People all grow up to die
There is no one here but me

Welcome to the soldier side
There is no one here but me
People on the soldier side
There is no one here but me

Cool System Of a Down--'Hypnotize'

System Of a Down released the second half of its double-release, Hypnotize, in November 2005. With this album, the band joined the ranks of such artists as The Beatles, Guns N' Roses, and even rappers 2Pac and DMX, with having two albums debut at #1 in the same year. The album included such songs as "Lonely Day", "Kill Rock N' Roll", and the title track. The band continued its streak of socially conscious songs with biting, and often cryptic, lyrics.

Hypnotized

Why don't you ask the kids at Tiananmen Square
Was fashion the reason why they were there
They disguised it, hypnotized it
Television made you buy it

I'm just sitting in my car
And waiting for my...

She's scared that I will take her away from there
Her dreams and her country left with no one there
Mezmerize the simple minded
Propaganda leaves us blinded

I'm just sitting in my car
And waiting for my girl
I'm just sitting in my car
And waiting for my girl

*(music)*

I'm just sitting in my car
And waiting for my girl
I'm just sitting in my car
And waiting for my girl

Kill Rock N' Roll

So i felt like the biggest assh***.
felt like the biggest assh***?
When I killed your rock and roll.
Mow down the sexy people!

Every time I look in your eyes,
Every day I'm watching you die.
All the thoughts I see in you.
About how I

So I felt like the biggest assh***.
felt like the biggest assh***?
When I killed your rock and roll.
Mow down the sexy people!

Every time I look in your eyes,
Every day I'm watching you die.
All the thoughts I see in you.
About how I

Eat all the Grass,
Eat all the grass that you want,
Accidents happen in the dark.
Eat all the grass that you want,
Accidents happen in the dark.
Eat all the grass that you want,
Accidents happen in the dark.
Eat all the Grass that you want,
Accidents happen...

Every time I look in your eyes,
Every day I'm watching you die.
All the thoughts I see in you.
about how i

So I felt like the biggest assh***,
when I killed rock and roll,
and I felt like the biggest assh***,
when I kill rock and roll.

Lonely Day

Such a lonely day
And it's mine
The most loneliest day in my life

Such a lonely day
Should be banned
It's a day that I can't stand

The most loneliest day of my life
The most loneliest day of my life

Such a lonely day
Shouldn't exist
It's a day that I'll never miss

Such a lonely day
And it's mine
The most loneliest day of my life

And if you go,
I wanna go with you
And if you die,
I wanna die with you
Take your hand and walk away

The most loneliest day of my life
The most loneliest day of my life
The most loneliest day of my life

Such a lonely day
And it's mine
It's a day that I'm glad I survived

Attack

Breathing each others lives,
Holding this in mind,
That if we fall, we all fall,
And we fall alone.

The cold insincerity of steel machines,
Have consumed our euphoria,
Transforming us into muted dreams,
Dreaming of the day that...

We attack,
Attack, attack your fetal servitude,
We attack,
Attack, attack, attack with pesticide,
We attack,
All the years of propaganda,
We shall attack!

Books illustrate what we already know,
Candles cry towards the sky,
Raising your flags along polluted coasts,
Dreaming of the day that...

We attack,
Attack, attack your fetal servitude,
We attack,
Attack, attack, attack with pesticide,
We attack,
All the years of propaganda,
We shall attack!

Attack! (Attack!)

Breathing each others lives,
Holding this in mind,
That if we fall, we all fall,
And we fall alone.

Breathing each others lives,
Holding this in mind,
That if we fall, we all fall,
And we fall alone.

What's the philosophy of displaced mines
The bombing of all homes and villages
Truth is the only sword bleeding minds,
Bleeding till the day that...

We attack,
Attack, attack your fetal servitude,
We attack,
Attack, attack, attack with pesticide
We attack,
All the years of propaganda
We shall attack!

Attack all the homes and villages,
Attack all the schools and hospitals,
You shall attack all the rapes and pillages,
We shall attack!

We shall attack!

Tentative

Superstition taking all of us for a ride
Mines overtaken by the signs of the Right
The bombs are falling overhead with no sight
While you are talking all detached, so tell us

Where you going
To the bottom
Do you hear us
We are rotting

We're going down in a spiral to the ground

No one, no one's gonna save us now
Ceremonies have killed religions for they provide
The masked comforts to delusionals, they're all in fright
The true believer's head was bathed in sunlight
While you are walking all detached, so tell us

Where you going
To the bottom
Do you hear us
We are rotting

We're going down in a spiral to the ground
No one, no one's gonna save us now
Not even God, no one saved us
No one's gonna save us

Where do you expect us to go when the bombs fall?

Where do you expect us to go when the bombs fall?

Where do you expect them to go when the bombs fall?

Where do you expect us to go when the bombs fall?

Superstition taking all of us for a ride
Mimes overtaken by the signs of the Right
The bombs are falling overhead with no sight
While you are talking all detached, detached, detached, detached, detached, detach.

Going down, in a spiral to the ground
No-one, no-one's gonna save us now (not even God)
No one saved us, no one saved us
No one saved us, no one's gonna save us now

Where do you expect us to go when the bombs fall?

Cool Iron Maiden--'Death On the Road'

Going back to Iron Maiden, the band released their live Death On the Road album that summer, which
highlighted their 'Dance Of Death' tour. The album charted highly in many countries, hitting #6 on the Finnish
charts and #7 in Sweden. The album was recorded at a concert in Dortmund, Germany.

The band's tour behind the 'Dance Of Death' album of America was painfully brief, as only concerts in two major
cities were scheduled, New York and Los Angeles. A beer dropped on the mixing board cut short one show.

A DVD version of the album would appear in early 2006. A special vinyl edition of the album was also released.

CD Track listing:

Cool Iron Maiden

While Maiden fans were steaming over the shabby treatment by $haron Osbourne at the San Bernadino Ozzfest show while trying to enjoy the band re-create a few past glories onstage, the Death On the Road album was there
to whet their appetite for what the band had been currently doing for the past year and a half. The double live disc was released in late August.

The awesome cover art was illustrated by Melvyn Grant.

Wildest Dreams

I'm gonna organize some changes in my life
I'm gonna exorcise the demons of my past
I'm gonna take the car and hit the open road
I'm feeling ready to just open up and go

And I just feel I can be anything
That all I might ever wish to be
And fantasize just what I want to be
Make my wildest dreams come true

I'm on my way
Out on my own again
I'm on my way
Out on the road again

When I remember back to how that things just used to be
And I was stuck inside a shroud of misery
I felt I'd disappeared so deep inside myself
I couldn't find a way to break away my hell

When I'm feeling down and low
I vow I'll never be the same again
I just remember what I am
And visualize just what I'm gonna be

I'm on my way
Out on my own again
I'm on my way
Out on the road again

I'm on my way
Out on my own again
I'm on my way
I'm gonna breakaway

Funny, I actually had a dream that I was up onstage with the band playing this next song: Ahhh, wildest dreams, indeed.

Rainmaker

When I was wandering in the desert
And was searching for the truth
I heard a choir of angels calling out my name
I had the feeling that my life would never be the same again
I turned my face towards the barren sun

And I know of the pain that you feel the same as me
And I dream of the rain as it falls upon the leaves
And the cracks in our lives like the cracks upon the ground
They are sealed and are now washed away

[Chorus:]
You tell me we can start the rain
You tell me that we all can change
You tell me we can find something to wash the tears away
You tell me we can start the rain
You tell me that we all can change
You tell me we can find something to wash the tears.....

And I know of the pain that you feel the same as me
And I dream of the rain as it falls upon the leaves
And the cracks in the ground like the cracks are in our lives
They are sealed and now far away

[Repeat chorus, 3rd verse]

No More Lies

There's a darkened sky before me
There's no time to prepare
Salvage a last horizon
But no regrets from me

Maybe I'll be back some other day
To live again just who can say
In what shape or form that I might be
Just another chance for me

A hurried time no disgrace
Instead of racing to conclusion
And wishing all my life away
No-one can stop me now

Time is up it couldn't last
But there's more things I'd like to do
I'm coming back to try again
Someday maybe I'll wait till then

No more lies...

They're all sitting at my table
Talking tall and drinking wine
Their time is up just like me
But they just don't know it yet

So just a word of warning
When you're in your deepest dreams
There's nothing you can hide from
I've got my eye on you

The clock is fast, the hour is near
Eventful past is everclear
My life is set, the time is here
I think I'm coming home

No more lies...

A hurried time, no disgrace
Instead of racing to conclusions
And wishing all your life away
No-one can stop me now

Time is up it couldn't last
But there's more things I have to do
I'm coming back to try again
Don't tell me that this is the end

No more lies...

Cool Iron Maiden

Dance Of Death

Let me tell you a story to chill the bones
About a thing that I saw
One night wandering in the everglades
I'd one drink but no more

I was rambling, enjoying the bright moonlight
Gazing up at the stars
Not aware of a presence so near to me
Watching my every move

Feeling scared and I fell to my knees
As something rushed me from the trees
Took me to an unholy place
And that is where I fell from grace

Then they summoned me over to join in with them
To the dance of the dead
Into the circle of fire I followed them
Into the middle I was led

As if time had stopped still I was numb with fear
But still I wanted to go
And the blaze of the fire did no hurt upon me
As I walked onto the coals

And I felt I was in a trance
And my spirit was lifted from me
And if only someone had the chance
To witness what happened to me

And I danced and I pranced and I sang with them
All had death in their eyes
Lifeless figures they were undead all of them
They had ascended from hell

As I danced with the dead
My free spirit was laughing and howling down at me
Below my undead body
Just danced the circle of dead

Until the time came to reunite us both
My spirit came back down to me
I didn't know if I was alive or dead
As the others all joined in with me

By luck then a skirmish started
And took the attention away from me
When they took their gaze from me
Was the moment that I fled

I ran like hell faster than the wind
But behind I did not glance
One thing that I did not dare
Was to look just straight ahead

When you know that your time has come around
You know you'll be prepared for it
Say your last goodbyes to everyone
Drink and say a prayer for it

When you're lying in your sleep, when you're lying in your bed
And you wake from your dreams to go dancing with the dead
When you're lying in your sleep, when you're lying in your bed
And you wake from your dreams to go dancing with the dead

To this day I guess I'll never know
Just why they let me go
But I'll never go dancing no more
'Til I dance with the dead

Paschendale

In a foreign field he lay
Lonely soldier, unknown grave
On his dying words he prays
Tell the world of Paschendale

Relive all that he's been through
Last communion of his soul
Rust your bullets with his tears
Let me tell you 'bout his years

Laying low in a blood filled trench
Kill time 'til my very own death
On my face I can feel the falling rain
Never see my friends again

In the smoke, in the mud and lead
Smell the fear and the feeling of dread
Soon be time to go over the wall
Rapid fire and end of us all

Whistles, shouts and more gun fire
Lifeless bodies hang on barbed wire
Battlefield nothing but a bloody tomb
Be reunited with my dead friends soon

Many soldiers eighteen years
Drown in mud, no more tears
Surely a war no-one can win
Killing time about to begin

Home, far away
From the war, a chance to live again
Home, far away
But the war, no chance to live again

The bodies of ours and our foes
The sea of death it overflows
In no man's land, God only knows
Into jaws of death we go

Crucified as if on a cross
Allied troops they mourn their loss
German war propaganda machine
Such before has never been seen

Swear I heard the angels cry
Pray to god no more may die
So that people know the truth
Tell the tale of Paschendale

Cruelty has a human heart
Every man does play his part
Terror of the men we kill
The human heart is hungry still

I stand my ground for the very last time
Gun is ready as I stand in line
Nervous wait for the whistle to blow
Rush of blood and over we go

Blood is falling like the rain
Its crimson cloak unveils again
The sound of guns can't hide their shame
And so we die on Paschendale

Dodging shrapnel and barbed wire
Running straight at cannon fire
Running blind as I hold my breath
Say a prayer symphony of death

As we charge the enemy lines
A burst of fire and we go down
I choke a cry but no-one hears
Feel the blood go down my throat

Home, far away
From the war, a chance to live again
Home, far away
But the war, no chance to live again

Home, far away
From the war, a chance to live again
Home, far away
But the war, no chance to live again

See my spirit on the wind
Across the lines, beyond the hill
Friend and foe will meet again
Those who died at Paschendale

Journeyman

From the red sky of the east
To the sunset in the west
We have cheated death
And he has cheated us

But that was just a dream
And this is what it means
We are sleeping
And we'll dream for evermore

And the fragment remains of our memories
And the shadows we made with our hands
Deep grey, came to mourn
All the colours of the dawn
Will this journeyman's day be his last?

[Chorus:]
I know what I want
And I say what I want
And no one can take it away
I know what I want
And I say what I want
And no one can take it away

But the memory still remains
All the past years not so strange
Our winter times are like a silent shroud
And the heartbeat of the day
Drives the mist away
And winter's not the only dream around

In your life you may choose desolation
And the shadows you build with your hands
If you turn to the light
That is burning in the night
Then the journeyman's day has begun

[Repeat chorus, 5th verse, chorus]

Red face Another trendy band un-*folds*.

One band to re-vitalize the trademark Maiden dual guitar harmony parts in rock was a group that has both become a sensation as well as a scourge was a five-piece from Huntington Beach, California. They claimed Maiden and Metallica as influences, though they came from the screamo and hardcore scenes in Orange County. They were, and are:

AVENGED SEVENFOLD.

The band formed in 1999 with members sporting such rock-and-roll-ish names as Zacky Vengeance (real name Zachary James Baker) on guitar, M. Shadows (real name Matthew Charles Sanders) on vocals, The Rev (full name The Reverend Tholomew Plague, real name Jimmy Owens Sullivan). The band's members were known for getting to wild legal scrapes as teens including vandalism, smashing car windows, fighting, and other acts of delinquency--M. Shadows' act of defacing school property caused the principal to have a fatal heart attack! After this, Shadows was known as "kid who killed the principal".

The band released their first album, 'Sounding the Seventh Trumpet', in 2001. The band acquired a new guitarist, Synyster Gates (real name Brian Haner Jr.), who was a student at Musicians' Institute in Hollywood and steeped in jazz playing. His father was in fact a member of Frank Zappa's band. The album featured such tracks as "To End the Rapture", "Darkness Surrounding", and "Warmness Of the Soul".

After the induction of their fourth bassist, Johnny Christ (no relation to the former Danzig guitarist), the band released their second album, 'Waking the Fallen', in the summer of 2003. The album featured such songs as "Unholy Confessions" and the title track. The band had achieved a major cult following, and sales of the album topped over 300,000.

But it was in 2005, that the band achieved mainstream success with City Of Evil, which featured not only the songs "The Beast And the Harlot", "Burn It Down", and "Seize the Day", but the popular track "Bat Country", which received extensive airplay on rock radio. The band's dual harmony guitar solos were some of the most familiar of the year as well the entire decade. However, many older fans were dismayed by the commercial sound of the album, accusing the band of "selling out", while newer fans were very impressed with the music.

Red face Avenged Sevenfold

In spite of the "Biblically" themed song images and the like, the band certainly were not exactly the kind of guys one would find in church on Sundays. The images were good in giving a metal mental picture of the band.

The band's song "Bat Country" was in fact based on writer Hunter S. Thompson's 1971 novel 'Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas' where, while he undergoes drug-induced hallucinations, sees huge bats and manta rays soaring in the sky. Panicked, he screams to his companion, Dr. Gonzo, "We can't stop here. This is bat country!"

Bat Country

He who makes a beast out of himself
Gets rid of the pain of being a man

Caught here in a fiery blaze, won't lose my will to stay.

I tri-ie-ied to drive all through the night,
The heat stroke ridden weather, the barren empty sights.
No oasis here to see, the sand is singing deathless words to me.

Can't you help me as I'm startin' to burn (all alone).
Too many doses and I'm starting to get an attraction.
My confidence is leaving me on my own (all alone).
No one can save me and you know I don't want the attention.

As I-I-I adjust to my new sights the rarely tired lights will take me to new heights.
My hand is on the trigger I'm ready to ignite.
Tomorrow might not make it but everything's all right.
Mental fiction follows me; show me what it's like to be set free.

Can't you help me as I'm startin' to burn (all alone).
Too many doses and I'm starting to get an attraction.
My confidence is leaving me on my own (all alone).
No one can save me and you know I don't want the attention.

I'm sorry you're not here I've been sane too long my vision's so unclear.
Now take a trip with me but don't be surprised when things aren't what they seem.

Caught here in a fiery blaze, won't lose my will to stay.
These eyes won't see the same, after I flip today.

(guitar solo)

Sometimes I don't know why we'd rather live than die,
We look up towards the sky for answers to our lives.
We may get some solutions but most just pass us by,
Don't want your absolution cause I can't make it right.
I'll make a beast out of myself, gets rid of all the pain of being a man.

Can't you help me as I'm startin' to burn (all alone).
Too many doses and I'm starting to get an attraction.
My confidence is leaving me on my own (all alone).
No one can save me and you know I don't want the attention.

Red face Avenged Sevenfold

As Avenged Sevenfold grew in popularity, many listeners found their claims to be influenced by Metallica and other true metal bands to be rather incredulous. Music magazines began touting them as yet another "next Metallica" and the like, and many dismissed them outright. The guys had a sort of look and image of being the "real deal", nifty nicknames, as well as the
Guns N' Roses-meets-Oasis sort of schtick. They seemed to be trying too hard to cultivate this flashy-trashy, bad-boy effect, and while the mall-jammers gobbled up the band, a kiddie-metal act, others blew them off and stuck with the real metal. Now, did a screamo, metalcore band, both increasingly disparaged forms of rock, have any claim to being in league with the titans of thrash? It was going to get weirder in the next coming year.

While the guitar guys could play, in a rather fruity manner, M. Shadows' voice was actually pretty grating.

Beast And the Harlot

This shining city built of gold, a far cry from innocence
There's more than meets the eye round here look to the waters of the deep.
A city of evil
There sat a seven-headed beast, ten horns raised from his head
Symbolic woman sits on his thrown but hatred strips her and leaves her naked.
The Beast and the Harlot.

She's a dwelling place for demons, she's a cage for every unclean spirit every filthy bird
And makes us drink the poisoned wine to fornicating with our kings.
Fallen now is Babylon the Great.

The city dressed in jewels and gold, fine linen, Myrrh and pearls
Her plagues will come all at once as her mourners watch her burn.
Destroyed in an hour
Merchants and captains of the world, sailors navigators too
Will weep and mourn this loss with her sins piled to the sky
The Beast and the Harlot.

The day has come for all us sinners, if your not a servant you'll be struck to the ground.
Flee the burning, greedy city looking back on her to see there's nothin' around.
I don't believe in fairytales and no one wants to go to Hell, but we made the wrong decision
And it's easy to see. Now if you wanna serve above or be a king below with us your
Welcome to the city where your future is set forever.

Burn It Down

Jealousy's an ugly word, but you don't seem to care
Converse behind my back, but now I'm here
Need no one to comply with me though everyone that I defeat
Don't need you, **** camaraderie, this rage will never go away

Hatred fuels my blood, I'll burn ya down (you can't help me)
One king to watch the horsemen fall, I'll fight 'til the end (I won't help you)
I can't trust anyone, see it in my eyes
Now I can understand, it's sorrow that feeds your lies

You're on my back when the water gets too deep for you to breath
A crutch for you that won't always be there
Hide in the dark another day, the fear in you is here to stay
So get the **** away from me, and learn to trust the words I say.

Hatred fuels my blood, I'll burn ya down (you can't help me)
One king to watch the horsemen fall, I'll fight 'til the end (I won't help you)
I can't trust anyone, witness and see it in my eyes
Now I can understand, put faith in you for the last time
It's sorrow that feeds your lies

Run from me before I tear you down (be afraid)
You chose the wrong side (it feels so right)
I won't help you, let you rot away
Run towards the light exposing your soul (we won't be there by your side)
Salvation's dying (somebody's crying)
We're all gone in the end, sweet child we'll miss you
No, so far away

I can't trust anyone, witness and see it in my eyes
Now I can understand, put faith in you for the last time
It's sorrow that feeds your lies

Falling away, can't turn back time
Burn it down anyway

Seize the Day

Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over

I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry
These streets we travel on will undergo our same lost past

I found you here, now please just stay for a while
I can move on with you around
I hand you my mortal life, but will it be forever?
I'd do anything for a smile, holding you 'til our time is done
We both know the day will come, but I don't want to leave you

I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry (a melody, a memory, or just one picture)

Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over
Newborn life replacing life, replacing all of us, changing this fable we live in
No longer needed here so where should we go?
Will you take a journey tonight, follow me past the walls of death?
But girl, what if there is no eternal life?

I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry (a melody, a memory, or just one picture)

Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over
Trails in life, questions of us existing here, don't wanna die alone without you there
Please tell me what we have is real

So, what if I never hold you, or kiss you lips again?
I never want to leave you and the memories for us to see
I beg don't leave me

Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over
Trails in life, questions of us existing here, don't wanna die alone without you there
Please tell me what we have is real

(Silence you lost me, no chance for one more day)
I stand here alone
Falling away from you, no chance to get back home

Cool Motley Crue--'Red, White, and Crue'

One seemingly unlikely reunion was that of Motley Crue, who released a new hits compilation album, Red, White, and Crue, in early 2005. The band apparently put aside their differences and came together once more for a tour, called the Carnival Of Sins tour. In spite of the tour going very well, rumors abounded that all of the members were not much on speaking terms with each other and pretty much went their separate ways after each show, only getting together for the sake of the fans. Regardless, the shows were thoroughly entertaining, proving that the 80's were not dead in mid-decade.

Another rumor surfaced that the band used other musicians on the new album in place of Tommy and Mick Mars. Vandals drummer Josh Freese was allegedly on the album, but a VH-1 documentary showed that Tommy Lee did in fact play on some tracks in the studio. The album, which featured new songs such as "If I Die Tomorrow", "Sick Love Song", and a cover of the Stones' "Street Fighting Man", topped the charts at #6.

If I Die Tomorrow

I wake up to find myself
After all these years
And where all the time has gone
Still seems so unclear
'Cause there's no one else
Since I found you
I know it's been so hard
You should know

If I die tomorrow
As the minutes fade away
I can't remember
Have I said all I can say?
You're my everything
You make me feel so alive
If I die tomorrow

It brings out the worst in me
When you're not around
I miss the sound of your voice
The silence seems so loud
'Cause there's no one else
Since I found you
I know it's been so hard
You should know

If I die tomorrow
As the minutes fade away
I can't remember
Have I said all I can say?
You're my everything
You make me feel so alive
If I die tomorrow

I spent all my life
Looking for our innocence
I've got nothing to lose
One thing to prove
I won't make the same mistakes
Now I know
That everything will be ok
When I die tomorrow

If I die tomorrow
As the minutes fade away
I can't remember
Have I said all I can say?
You're my everything
You make me feel so alive
If I die tomorrow
You make me feel so alive
If I die tomorrow
If I die tomorrow

Cool Motley Crue

Sick Love Song

Wake me up in the morning glory,
Cant get straight your lies are stories
How do you mark your territory

When your trash becomes your treasure,
Your remorse are my pleasure,
Lose your mind at your leisure

Simply said your complicated,
Understand you're overrated,
The more you talk the less you seem to say

We are miserable,
You are driving me insane

This could be your,
Sick love song
This could be your
Sign that things are going wrong
This could be your
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song

Chew me up like a meat grinder
You're cold-blooded like a sidewinder
I don't need another reminder
Cant understand normal thinking
Drive a sober man to drinking
In fact you drive me straight to hell

We are miserable
You are driving me insane

This could be your
Sick love song
This could be your
Sign that things are going wrong
This could be your
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song

The more you inhale
The more that you breath
The more that you make me
Wanna scream

This could be your
Sick love song
This could be your
Sign that things are going wrong
This could be your
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song

This could be your
Sick love song
This could be your
Reason not to get along
This could be your
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song
Sick love song

Street Fighting Man

Everywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy
Cause summer's here and the time is right for fighting in the street, boy
But what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock 'n' roll band
Cause in sleepy London town
There's just no place for a street fighting man. No

Hey! Think the time is right for a palace revolution
But where I live the game to play is compromise solution
Well, then what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock 'n' roll band
'Cause in sleepy London town
There's no place for a street fighting man. No

Hey! Said my name is called disturbance
I'll shout and scream, I'll kill the king, I'll rail at all his servants
Well, what can a poor boy do
Except to sing for a rock 'n' roll band
Cause in sleepy London town
There's no place for a street fighting man. No

The show was literally a circus performance, very entertaining:

Cool Disturbed--'Ten Thousand Fists'

In the fall of 2005, Disturbed released Ten Thousand Fists, an album which featured such tracks as "Just Stop", "Guarded", "Stricken", and the title track, as well as a popular cover of the Genesis song "Land Of Confusion". Instead of the hilariously bizarre Spitting Image puppets used in the original video from 1986, Disturbed's version used animation featuring haunting scenes of an impending apocalypse and war. Their hooded, grinning mascot also makes an appearance in the video as well. Fist-raising figures on the cover also appear in the animation.

The month before, as many bands and performers flocked to New Orleans to respond to and raise money for Hurricane Katrina benefits, Disturbed oddly found itself unwelcome in the relief effort. Singer David Draiman was confused. Why wouldn't the band be allowed to help participate?
Was it just because a metal band, of sorts, just didn't fit in with all the other "more respected" entertainers who could always pull in a crowd and guarantee viewership during airtime, like all the Bruces and Britneys? Something not right with that picture. Any kind of metal or hard rock just didn't fit with some, in spite of the performances helping in a worthy cause.

The lyrics of the Genesis cover were oddly appropriate in a time of national crisis as this, hurricanes and holy wars:

Land Of Confusion

I must've dreamed a thousand dreams
and Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching of feet
Moving into the street

Now did you read the news today?
They say the danger's gone away
But I can see the fires still alight
Burning into the night

There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

Ah Ah Ah Ah

This is the world we live in
(ohh ohh oh)
And these are the hands we're given
(ohh oh)
Use them and let's start trying
(ohh ohh oh)
To make it a place worth living in

Oh, superman, where are you now?
When everything's gone wrong somehow
The men of steel, these men of power
Are losing control by the hour

And this is the time, this is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go around
Tell me why this is a land of confusion

Ah Ah Ah Ah

This is the world we live in
(ohh ohh oh)
And these are the hands we're given
(Ohh oh)
Use them and let's start trying
(ohh ohh oh)
To make it a place worth living in

I remember long ago
When the sun was shining
And all the stars were bright
All through the night
In the wake of this madness
As I held you tight
So long ago

I won't be coming home tonight
(sha sha)
My generation will put it right
(sha sha)
We're not just making promises
(sha sha)
That we know we'll never keep

There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

Ah Ah Ah Ah

Now, this is the world we live in
(ohh ohh oh)
And these are the hands we're given
(ohh oh)
Use them and let's start trying
(ohh ohh oh)
To make it a place worth fighting for

This is the world we live in
(ohh ohh oh)
And these are the names we're given
(ohh oh)
Stand up and let's start showing
(ohh ohh oh)
Just where our lives are going to

Ah Ah Ah Ah

Dead on the mark
Is what we will deliver tonight AH! AH!

Pleasure fused with pain
This triumph of the soul

Just Stop

OH!!!
Just stop enough of the limitless critical comments on my life
Just drop the judgement and all of your pseudo-involvement in my life
Step back a moment, and look at the miracle started in our life
Don't stop the moment, and let the incredible happen knowing that

All that you want is to criticize
Something for nothing
And all that I want is forgiveness one more time
To be the best in the world

OH!!!

Just stop with all of your little deliberate problems with my life
Enough of all of the crippling terrible pain we feel inside
Step back a moment, remember how the miracle started in our life
Take back the torment; I wont be enjoying this moment knowing that

All that you want is to criticize
Something for nothing
And all that I want is forgiveness one more time
I know that
All that we want is to feel inside
Some kind of comfort
And all that we've done
We cant hide
We'll be the best in the world

All I ever wanted was to be a real source of compassion
For the moment that we find ourselves drowning in
All I ever wanted was to be a real source of compassion
For the moment that we find ourselves drowning in

All that you want is to criticize
Something for nothing
And all that I want is forgiveness one more time
I know that
All that we want is to feel inside
Some kind of comfort
And all that we've done
We cant hide
We'll be the best in the world
We'll be the best in the world
Just stop enough of the limitless critical comments on my life
Just drop the judgement and all of your pseudo-involvement in my life

Guarded

Guarding yourself from the love of another
Left you with nothing tonight!
Why does it sound like the devil is laughing
Leaving me haunted tonight!
You did decide

Now I want you, when you're gone, and now it's like
You're holding something just in front of me
Well then, I can't allow this to become another
One of those times that I'm left in the cold, dead
There's no compromise!
Just another time
I know I need to sever

Guarding yourself from the love of another
Left you with nothing tonight!
Why does it sound like the devil is laughing
Leaving me haunted tonight
You did decide

Ever haunted by the trappings of this life
Sweet redemption just in front of me
Well now it seems once again that I've lost another
One of the ones who have broke through the wall, damned
Fate won't compromise
I have sold my soul and now the devil's laughing
You did decide

You were bold and strong and ready to begin your life
All for nothing, you were sacrificed
You began alone and so it will be when you die
All for nothing will you be remembered?
You did decide

Guarding yourself from the love of another
Left you with nothing tonight!
So now you know why the devil was laughing
He left you with nothing tonight
You did decide

Stricken

AH! AH! AH! OW!

You walk on like a woman in suffering
Won't even bother now to tell me why
You come along, letting all of us savor the moment
Leaving me broken another time

You come on like a bloodstained hurricane
Leave me alone, let me be this time
You carry on like a holy man pushing redemption
I don't want to mention, the reason I know

That I am stricken and can't let you go
When the heart is cold, there's no hope, and we know
That I am crippled by all that you've done
Into the abyss will I run!

AH! AH! AH! OW!

You don't know what your power has done to me
I want to know if I'll heal inside
I can't go on with a holocaust about to happen
Seeing you laughing another time

You'll never know why your face has haunted me
My very soul has to bleed this time
Another hole in the wall of my inner defenses
Leaving me breathless, the reason I know

That I am stricken and can't let you go
When the heart is cold, there's no hope, and we know
That I am crippled by all that you've done
Into the abyss will I run!

Into the abyss will I run!

[DAN DONEGAN'S GUITAR SOLO]

AHHHHHH!

You walk on like a woman in suffering
Won't even bother now to tell me why
You come along, letting all of us savor the moment
Leaving me broken another time

You come on like a bloodstained hurricane
Leave me alone, let me be this time
You carry on like a holy man pushing redemption
Don't want to mention, the reason I know

That I am stricken and can't let you go
When the heart is cold, there's no hope, and we know
That I am crippled by all that you've done
Into the abyss will I run!

Into the abyss will I run!
I can't let you go!
Yes I am stricken and can't let you go!!

Unhappy April 18, 2005: American Head Charge guitarist Bryan Ottoson dies.

One new rising band, American Head Charge, lost their guitarist, Bryan Ottoson, on April 18, 2005, while on tour with Mudvayne, Life of Agony, and Bloodsimple. Before the band was set to play a club in North Charleston, South Carolina, they found him dead in the sleeping bunk of their tour bus. He had died from an overdose of prescription medication he was using for treatment of strep throat. The band had thought
he had been sleeping heavily before a concert, as was common with him, so they did not check on him until later. By then it was too late.

The band countered rumors and police reports that he had been drinking heavily before the show, but this was not the case. Bassist Chad Hanks stated, "Bryan, myself, and our tech D-Rock walked to the bar just before last call, and we were stone cold sober. We all had two shots of vodka and one beer each. No more. No less. If three drinks is a 'large amount of alcohol', then apparently my mother is a raging alcoholic."

Ottoson's death was ruled purely accidental. The band would continue with a new guitarist, but Ottoson's tragic death came at a very inopportune time while on tour when they were gaining visibility. He was only 27 years old.

Cool The Mars Volta--'Frances the Mute'

In 2005, progressive alternative band The Mars Volta continued in their elaborate concepts with Frances the Mute. The album's themes were based on a diary that their late sound technician, Jeremy Ward, found in a repossessed vehicle while working as a car repo man. Ward died in 2003. The album contained one of their most popular tracks, "The Widow", and became a nearly as big a seller as their previous album, "De-Loused In the Comatorium". Music reviews were rather divided in their opinion of the album; many praised it for its depth, while others panned it for being "a homogeneous sheap of stream-of-consciousness turgidity". Many of the album's critics did find something worth hearing in the band's musical abilities. The band even found an appreciative listener in none other than the prog rock master, Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson. Guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López even admitted that he struggled with the guitar, and yet he was able to come up with interesting pieces of music.

The diary which became the basis of the album's overall theme was discovered by Ward to have eerie similarities between his life and the lives of the characters in its pages. The diary generally described a search for an adopted person's search for his biological parents, and the persons the main character met along the way.

The Widow

He's got fasting black lungs
Made of clove splintered shardes
They're the kind that will talk
Through a weezing of coughs

And I hear him every night
In every pore
And every time he just makes me warm

Freeze without an answer
Free from all the shame
Must I hide?
Cause I'll never
Never sleep alone

Look at how they flock to him
From an isle of open sores
He knows that the taste is such
Such to die for

And I hear him every night
On every street
The scales that do slither
Deliver me from…

Freeze without an answer
Free from all the shame
Then I'll hide
Cause I'll never
Never sleep alone

Oh lord
Said I'm bloodshot for sure
Pale runs the ghost
Swollen on the shore

Everynight
in every pore
The scales that do slither
Deliver me from…

Freeze without an answer
Free from all the shame
Then I'll hide
Cause I'll never
Never sleep alone

Freeze without an answer
Free from all the shame
Let me die
Cause I'll never
Never sleep alone
