It's a telling sign of how greed and power can outweigh compassion and common sense in today's America.

I don't know but if that holds some truth, if they'll get more money from the people so they can waste more in their cushy positions. And a lot of their STUPID decisions on where they spend it.

So that the docs don't get splashed with blood from the patient's body.
Surgical face masks have been used for over 100 years to protect both patients and medical professionals alike from getting sick. And it's not just to protect patients from doctors sneezing in a patient's wound, as this article from 1967 makes clear: "various investigators confirmed the value of face masks in protecting the wearer against infection [...] In 1918 Weaver reported that over a two-year period the incidence of diphtheria contracted by attendants of infected patients was reduced to zero after wearing masks of double thickness gauze." In other words, in 1918, doctors were learning the importance of wearing masks, both to protect patients and themselves.

That's a terrible idea during a pandemic.

and see just how many masks you all find. As I said I spent 4.5 months under hospital and rehab care and did NOT see one mask, except when wheeled down for knee cleaning out in OR.
Presumably, your wound was bandaged. Those layers of gauze or bandages would serve the same purpose as a mask: providing a sterile barrier to protect people from disease. But people with infectious respiratory diseases can't wear a bandage over their mouths and noses. Instead, everyone must wear masks around the infected person. This is a basic medical principle which has been recognized for over a century. If someone told you surgical masks don't protect people from germs, they are disagreeing with doctors from the 1960s, who most certainly are not involved in any conspiracy theory you are now imagining.

Ah, interesting comment from the moderator on my major alternative healing group."....

((If we ever get the truth about the results of Texas reopening......I really do feel herd immunity has started a while ago. Why would we assume the human body is just sitting around waiting for Fauci to save us.

We should be able to tell a lot from Texas. I suspect our fears are unfounded.))

Yes, I've been in several hospitals and clinics over the years.

What were you doing in the infectious disease ward of the hospital, if your problem was a leg wound?
