Thanks for your answers. Yeah, I guess not remembering much about it means it probably isn't worth remembering.

It seems this one is pretty forgotten.

These two were not the greatest but they don't belong on this list. I second that.

Now, "Homebodys" does belong on that list and it should be at the top of the list. That show was awful and it offended me from time to time.

Respectfully, the last three you listed are definitely not in the same categories as the rest of those on this list (excepting The Ropers).

I agree with all those choices; but another show that should be on that list is "THE NEW MUNSTERS"

GOD that show was AWFUL!!!

I can think of a number of shows of that era that were worst than the Ropers.

The reason for The Ropers being a bad idea for a sitcom is IMO the same reason for Phyllis being a bad idea for a sitcom. Phyllis Lindstrom had to be one of the most obnoxious characters in my memory from any sitcom, which makes for an ok supporting character on MTM but not for a lead character on her own sitcom.

Small Wonder - Never saw; nor do I have any interest--Trust your judgement on this!
Mr. T. & Tina - You've struck my curiosity, would be interesting to see (along with Holmes & Yoyo)
Homeboys From Outerspace - Never saw, but looks pretty bad
The Ropers I have watched, and don't remember it being that bad, but in retrospect, maybe its a good arguement that they should have been left on 3C
Emeril - Never saw, doesn't sound very interesting
Veronica's Closet - I did watch this one, and liked it. Kind of surprised this is on your list.

I also liked Veronica's Closet. It wasn't the best sitcom but it wasn't bad at all.

Cool

The one show on this list I definitely don't hate is "Small Wonder". In fact I like it and own the first two seasons on DVD!

I think it's just the thing to do anymore...beating up on SW. I used to watch the show every week and really enjoyed it. It definately is not one of the worse sitcoms of all time. And really any sitcom that ran for more than one year shouldn't be on that list because somebody liked them. I hate the Office and Friends but I wouldn't put them on the list. lol

Edit: I take that back. I forgot about Til Death.

Default Add this one:

"THE SECRET DIARY OF DESMOND PFEIFFER" (UPN, 1998), one of the worst sitcoms ever produced. The president of UPN claimed, before the series went on the air, that he scheduled it because he wanted to prove to audiences, "Hey, we do cool TV, too". Some "cool"- imagine a reimagined Abraham Lincoln {Dann Florek** in the White House during the Civil War, portrayed as an oversexed "idiot"- tended to by a black valet {Chi McBride** who's smarter than him (shades of "BENSON"!). Four episodes aired before UPN finally yanked it off the air....an embarrassment for everyone concerned.

Default And I'll say this much about TV Squad's choices...

1) "SMALL WONDER" is a series, like "THE BRADY BUNCH", "GILLIGAN'S ISLAND", and "FULL HOUSE", you either love or loathe.
2) "MR. T AND TINA" was okay, but the best part was George Aliceson Tipton's rousing arrangement of "Chicago (That Toddlin' Town)" as the show's theme, mixing Dixieland and "oriental chinoserie".
3) "HOMEBOYS IN OUTER SPACE". I liked it because James Doohan occasionally appeared on the show, sending up his "Scotty" image from "STAR TREK".
4) "THE ROPERS" were to "THREE'S COMPANY" what "GEORGE & MILDRED" was to the original "MAN ABOUT THE HOUSE" in England. It wasn't that bad; I liked the theme.
5) "EMERIL"- now THERE was a disaster, all because NBC's Jeff Zucker (why is he still with the network???) mistakenly believed that Emeril Lagasse had potential fronting a situation comedy, solely on the strength of his personality, as demonstrated on his Food Network cooking show, "EMERIL LIVE". That's just about the same mistake Fox Television made, way back in 1998, when they decided Earvin "Magic" Johnson could host a syndicated talk show {"THE MAGIC HOUR"** solely on his popularity as a sports commentator...without realizing Johnson had absolutely NO abilities whatsoever to enable him to function as a talk show host [let's face it, he's much better as a guest than host]. In Emeril's case, he just couldn't "act"...and the supporting cast surrounding him couldn't hide that fact {"Look, you just say something funny, and we'll just let him grin at the camera like an ape, no one's gonna notice!"**.
6) "VERONICA'S CLOSET"....well, there is some sort of cosmic justice for sitcoms like this: today, Kirstie Alley could easily play "the closet".
